Penang, gelegen ten noordwesten van het schiereiland Maleisië, is een klein eiland, maar het is compact met interessante en intrigerende plaatsen. Het is de eerste Britse nederzetting in Maleisië en het bloeide en bloeide toen op tot de drukste haven in de regio. Penang is vooral bekend als smelthaven voor veel etnische groepen met de meest prominente handel in specerijen; die de vroege Europeaan duur betaalde voor dit "groene goud". The Esplanade is een locatie aan het water in het hart van George Town, Penang, Maleisië. Het beslaat het veld naast Fort Cornwallis, plaatselijk bekend als de Padang, en de promenade aan zee langs de rand van het veld.
Het wordt omringd door veel tropisch groen en is een van de bekendste bezienswaardigheden van Penang. Het biedt een grote verscheidenheid aan kwaliteitsbatikels, van batikblokken met blokafdrukken tot met de hand getekende stukken. Bij de Penang Batik Factory, in tegenstelling tot de gebruikelijke eenzijdige print, heeft elk stuk patronen en kleuren aan beide zijden van de stof
Tropisch landschap met meer dan 500 plantensoorten, plus tuinrondleidingen, nachtwandelingen en kookcursussen.

Penang Batik Factory is een van de pioniers van de batik-industrie op het eiland. Het werd in 1973 opgericht door Craft Batik Sdn Bhd en ligt in Teluk Bahang, op korte loopafstand van de Penang Botanic Gardens. Het complex is verdeeld in drie secties: een kunstgalerie, een boetiek en een workshop.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Our driver Mr Azmel was so knowledgeable and we learnt so much. Our tour of the Batik Factory and sales outlet was well worth it. Our favourite was the Butterfly Farm - such a beautiful experience.

Driver was on time. Not very talkative, really just a driver. As we had visited both locations and still had time he did suggest another location to visit .

The overall experience was good. The downside was it was difficult walking the trail. Be prepared for high humidity. Has a jungle feel for me. Worth the effort.

Great and personalized experience with our guide, who pick up us at the crusade ship harbour , very fluent in english and a good knowledge about the region and people in the area. She showed us also some extra highlights, we realized, that she is quite proud of her country.

Great exploration of the Island with wide ranging activities and local knowledge. Very flexible on timing so we could explore at our own pace. Everyone enjoyed the Butterfly Garden, Fruit Sampling and the Spice Garden was very interesting to explore. Comfortable tour from knowledgeable local host. Family of 4 Australians w/2 teenage kids.

The guide wasn't a guide, just a driver. Sorry, we have not received any information about the island, city, culture,... The booked program also did not fit with the plan of the "guide". He did not want to approach two points of the program. Value for money does not fit. With this experience, next time we would take a grave and drive to the points described in the program, pay the entrance fee ourselves and then we would have saved a lot of money.

Disappointing visit. If the route is well indicated, the plan is well done, the garden lacks maintenance and information for beginners. Not many haunts in the paths, the vegetation is mixed, it is very difficult to spot the species. The route is short. Little or no spices. Overall disappointing Jean Pierre
