Volledige dag sightseeingtour door de Amerikaanse sectoren van de invasie van D-Day in Normandië + Airborne Museum. Een ervaren Engelssprekende gids zal u de slagvelden laten zien en de gebeurtenissen die hebben plaatsgevonden in detail uitleggen.

We houden ervan om op schema te rijden en als u niet op de aangegeven instaptijd op het vertrekpunt bent, vertrekken we. Er zullen anderen aan boord zijn die zijn aangekomen zoals gevraagd en we willen hun ervaring niet beïnvloeden. Als u te laat arriveert, moet u op eigen kosten een taxi nemen om de rondleiding in te halen. We raden u ten zeerste aan om vroeg aan te komen voor de tour, aangezien er geen restitutie in aanmerking komt als u de dienst mist.
Je krijgt een goed overzicht van de strandlandingen die plaatsvonden op Omaha Beach op 6 juni 1944. Daarna heb je ongeveer 15 minuten vrije tijd om over het zand te lopen (afhankelijk van de getijdenomstandigheden) waar Amerikaanse troepen landden. D-dag.
De gids leidt je naar de ongelooflijke Amerikaanse begraafplaats en legt veel belangrijke feiten uit over wanneer deze werd gebouwd, waarom deze zich bevindt waar het is en veel verhalen over de mannen en vrouwen die hier begraven liggen. Je krijgt ongeveer 45 minuten vrije tijd om op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen.
Je leert over de rol van de Amerikaanse Rangers op D-Day, die de kliffen bij Pointe-Du-Hoc moesten beklimmen om Duitse langeafstandskanonnen tot zwijgen te brengen. Je krijgt voldoende vrije tijd om op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen na de uitleg van je gids.
Inbegrepen in de kosten van uw tour is een kaartje voor toegang tot het indrukwekkende Airborne Museum. Uw gids geeft u voldoende tijd om deze fantastische locatie te bezichtigen, waardoor u meer inzicht krijgt in de Airborne-operatie.
Dit kleine Normandische stadje lag aan de hoofdweg N13 die Cherbourg met Bayeux en Caen verbond. Dit was de hoofdroute die zowel Duitsers als Amerikanen nodig zouden hebben om de broodnodige uitrusting te mobiliseren tijdens de slag om Normandië. Ste Mere Eglise was een doel voor de 82nd Airborne Paratroopers en is beroemd gemaakt door de film The Longest Day. De Amerikaanse parachutist John Steele kwam tijdens de val ongelukkig op de kerktoren terecht.
Terwijl we rijden, laten we je enkele van de typische heggen zien waar de geallieerden doorheen moesten vechten. We zullen uitleggen hoe de Duitsers het landschap dat bekend staat als het 'bocage' voor hun defensieve voordeel gebruikten en hoe de geallieerden deze overwonnen.
Uw gids geeft u een gedetailleerd verslag van de landingen door de Amerikaanse 4e Infanteriedivisie voordat u wat vrije tijd krijgt om de vele monumenten die zich hier bevinden te verkennen.
We stoppen kort om u een van onze favoriete monumenten in Normandië te laten zien. Richard Winters werd gekozen om het leiderschap te vertegenwoordigen vanwege zijn wereldwijde bekendheid door de tv-miniserie Band of Brothers.
We zullen de tijd nemen om de betekenis van dit prachtige kleine dorp uit te leggen. Dit was een doel van de 101st Airborne om de troepen te helpen landen op Utah Beach.

Geef tijdens het reserveren de leeftijd van het kind aan en wij zullen indien nodig een autostoeltje voor u regelen. Wij accepteren geen kinderen jonger dan 4 jaar.

We went for a day with Eloise to visit the American beaches, St Mere Eglise, a museum etc. It was fabulous. Eloise is a wealth of knowledge and was absolutely wonderful. We highly recommend this tour operator, Bayeux Shuttle, and for this tour, Eloise for a guide/chauffeur.

Amazing tour. Our guide, Pierre, was extremely knowledgeable and wonderfully pieced together the history of D-Day and much of the impacts WWI-WWII had on France. Pickup and drop off was a breeze, and along the way and at each stop there was always a piece of history or a detail to be pointed out. The weight of history is evident in nearly all the stops. Walking the sands of Omaha and Utah beaches, walking among the bombed our craters of Point Du Hoc, observing the urban battlefield that is Sainte-Mère-Église, and among the rows upon rows of crosses at the hallowed grounds at the American Cemetery. I will not forget this experience for the rest of my days.

An informations well presented tour of the US beach operations. Jordan, our guide, presented a thorough overview of the background to as well as the landings. A visit to Angoville ended on a fascinating story or bravery and the camaraderie in battle.

Whole experience was great, from pickup to drop off. Irene, our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but spoke clearly and understandable. As a person with hearing challenges, I could understand almost every word. You see the sights, but the unexpected can happen too. During the free time at the cemetery I was relating to a fellow traveler my family’s story of one who landed at Omaha beach on d-day. An elderly French woman who was nearby heard the story and engaged me with two main points, one, why did he do this for us? Second, thank your family for what they did for us. This was the highlight for me. So, you never know. You won’t regret this trip.
