Beschrijving
Op een dag heb je tijd om twee fantastische plaatsen in onze regio te bezoeken: Uplistsikhe, zonder welke het moeilijk is om je de voorchristelijke, oude wereld van Georgië voor te stellen, en Mtskheta, zonder welke het onmogelijk is om het tijdperk van het vroege christendom te begrijpen en de Middeleeuwen. Wanneer u steden bekijkt, zult u visueel het pad volgen dat Georgië is gegaan vanaf de tijd van de vroege bronstijd tot de adoptie van het christendom.

Onze wandeling begint A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, P. Tchaikovsky, A. Dumas-vader, L. Tolstoy en vele anderen. Als je het pad afzet, passeer je de plaatsen waar de gebeurtenissen beschreven door Lermontov in het beroemde gedicht "Mtsyri" zich ontwikkelden, en ga je omhoog naar de Jvari-tempel van de VI eeuw - vanaf hier zie je een betoverend uitzicht op Mtskheta: " ... waar het samenvoegende geluid, knuffelen, alsof twee zussen, de jets van Aragva en de Kura ... "
Tempels van Mtskheta Je bezoekt de Svetitskhoveli-kathedraal (pijler van het leven geven) - de patriarchale kathedraal van de Georgisch-orthodoxe kerk. Maak kennis met zijn geschiedenis en belangrijke gebeurtenissen uit het verleden. Hier is de begraafplaats van de heiligdommen van het christendom - de tuniek van Jezus Christus en de mantel van Elia de profeet, evenals de overblijfselen van St. Andreas de Eerste Roep.
Heidens verleden in de grotten van Uplistsikhe Een korte weg naar het noordwesten - en je vindt jezelf in een grottenstad van het einde van II - het begin van het eerste millennium v.Chr. Ik heb veel aantekeningen bestudeerd over deze ongewone plek, en ik zal jullie de meest interessante vertellen. Door de stenen labyrinten van woon- en bijkeukens te verkennen, zult u zich het leven van de heidenen en hun cultusrituelen voorstellen. Je leert over de handel van Uplistsikhe met de oude staten Urartu en Medië, over de hoogtijdagen en achteruitgang. Het biedt ook prachtige panorama's over de Kura-vallei. In het tweede deel van de reis kun je op verzoek van de groep het Stalin Museum in zijn geboorteplaats Gori bezoeken. In de zalen van het hele museumpantheon ziet u het bewaard gebleven beeldhouwwerk van Stalin, zijn persoonlijke bezittingen en meubels - de museumgids zal een excursie uitvoeren. Had a great day with tour guide Paata! Visited the oldest Orthodox church in Mtskheta, the cave town in Uliscikh and the amazing ancient defensive fortress on the mountain in Gori! Thanks to Paata, we have learned many new and interesting things! It was also time to take a walk around the local fair, buy spices, churchelas, wines. We had lunch at a restaurant with delicious local dishes! The tour was very informative and rich! Thank you, Paata!

We were recently on a tour with Paat's guide - and it was a real journey through the eras. The route is structured so that you literally go from antiquity through the Middle Ages and gradually find yourself in the realities of the Soviet past. It's really cool how Paata connects different historical periods into one coherent story - without dry facts, but with living details, legends and unexpected twists. Separately, I would like to note that the tour took place in a mixed group, and Paata led it equally easily and interestingly in both languages - Russian and English - without leaving anyone behind. Travelled by comfortable minibus for about 15 people, which made the trip convenient and allowed to see more places without rush. We visited Jwari, Gori, Uplistsikhe and Mtskheta - and thanks to Paata's stories, these places are revealed as a single historical line, where each era logically flows to the next. Particularly liked that the tour is not overloaded with dates, but more about understanding context and feeling time - history really comes alive. Paata is a charismatic and attentive guide who can adjust to the interests of the group and answers any questions. Definitely one of those excursions, after which you take a different look at the history of the region. I recommend it!
