Deze ervaring is een wandeltocht langs de meest emblematische gebouwen in het hart van Mérida. Tijdens de rondleiding voelt het alsof u teruggaat in de tijd terwijl u meer leert over de geschiedenis van de stad en de gebouwen die u bezoekt. Naast deze belangrijke plekken zullen we het ook hebben over cenotes, hun belang en ontstaan, de Maya-aluxes, de equinoxen en nog veel meer! Hier gaan we de tweede belangrijke kerk in Mérida bezoeken, de kerk van de 3e orde en ook het Jose Peón Contreras Theater
We gaan de tour daar afmaken, en we hebben het ook over de witte stoelen (zelfverzekerde stoelen)

I had such a great tour with Shirley and Mike - I learned so much about Merida and its deep history. They explained everything in great detail, especially from the perspective of the Mayans, away from the colonial lens. I greatly appreciate educating us visitors about the hardships Yucatecans went through in the past, especially as someone who is also affected by the long history of Spanish colonialism. There are many tours to choose from but THIS is the one to book! You’ll even get notes so you can go back to all info from the tour. They are super thorough and will go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable and enjoy. You’re guaranteed to have a great and enriching time at Merida’s historic centre. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This experience was amazing! I learnt so much about Merida and it's history. Shirley was such a light! This walking tour was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend anyone who might want to learn more about Mèrida and the Yucatan Peninsula to take this tour!! I was surprised, yet very thankful that I ended up doing this tour alone with Shirley (Duck) . She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and spent time answering all of my questions. I loved the locations we explored, as well as her segment about the traditional dishes in the Yucatan. That way I knew what to eat while I was in the area. I suggest doing this tour when you first arrive to Mèrida so you have more of an insight during your trip. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay in that area for a longer period of time to participate in more of the activities that Mike and Duck have to offer!!
Great tour of key sites in the historical center of Merida. Shirley shared information about history and culture and we learned fun facts about each place we saw. I would highly recommend this tour if you want an overview of the city.
Do not hesitate to book if you are looking to learn about Merida. Shirley and Mike made the tour so special and we had smiles on our faces the entire time. They really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and have fun whilst learning all about the wonderful city of Merida, we can only say good things and a huge thank you to them both. Shirley and Mike were fantastic guides full of knowledge they were eager to share with our group. We walked around the historical center of town and visited a couple museums. We learned about local lore and history of the area and the people that make up this beautiful city. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to gain more insight of the history of central Merida.
