We traveled to Girona for four days and had originally booked two separate day trips with Girona Explorers. We enjoyed the experience so much that we changed our plans, extended our stay in Girona by three more days, and booked another tour. The guides were incredible — it genuinely felt like longtime friends were showing us around. Their passion for the city, history, and culture made us appreciate Girona on a completely different level. Booking through their website was also extremely easy and convenient. And it certainly didn’t hurt that the guides were all very handsome too!
Marc Jean was a delight. So much historical and current information presented in a colourful and humorous package. Sincerely we would highly recommend to all ages and backgrounds. Thank you MJ !!!
Wonderful experience with Gino a very likeable and knowledgeable guide. Would recommend this for everyone wanting to know more about the history of this beautiful part of Spain.
The towns we visited were interesting and picturesque. At every turn was another photo opportunity. Gino our guide offered a good amount of history but not so much that you’re overwhelmed. We had plenty of time at each stop and never felt rushed. Our group size was 6 which made it very intimate and easy to maneuver around. I highly recommend this tour!
Our first happy surprise was that it was a private tour with just the three of us (my mum is 77 years) and Gino (our excellent driver and guide). For some reason, I had assumed there would be a bus-load of people. After that, Gino took us to all the loveliest of places and he was great in terms of information and historical knowledge. He provided us with history and legends of witches and customs in the area. He even gave us a surprise breakfast that we absolutely did not expect. He was thoughtful and very kind and the day trip itinerary was very well though out. He was entertaining and absolutely on time, when he mentioned he'd be there. Peratallada was beautiful and Pals was charming. I think Pals had lots more to offer. Begur was lovely, but since we did spend a lot more time in Peratallada and Pals, we had a short stop at Begur. Calella de Palafrugell was absolutely beautiful and it would be great to have more time there, but we relaxed so much at our lunch by the sea, we did not have much time to explore the scenic walks. He was great at his recommendation on the best places to eat lunch. Enjoyed the day trip and wish it was longer. Glad we did it with Girona Explorers even if we had to get up early to take the train from Barcelona
We went by train to Girona and took many pictures. The Medieval Costa Brava was great to see. I recommend this day trip.
We highly recommend the visit thanks to the explanations of our guide Max. We have learned about the main attractions of Gerona and its history.
We just spent a fantastic day with Dani and Adriana. They were charming guides, who were very knowledgeable about the areas. Dani was an enthusiastic guide, who paced the day well, was interested in us and pitched information that he thought would suit our interests. The sights were beautiful and free from crowds of visitors and we had lots of free time to explore on our own. At the end of the day we felt we had spent time with local friends, knew much, much more about Catalan history in the area and had had a great deal of fun.
Hello Sandra! Thanks for your comment. This is actually one of the things we try to achieve: that you feel like you’ve been visiting the place with friends, rather than with guides. We think this way you can get a better feeling of the place, our history and culture, and character. Thank you for coming! Dani
Lovely countryside and the towns you will be visiting are beautiful and will take you back centuries . To have a leisurely lunch in beautiful Calella (fishing village) , enjoy the village and walk to Llfranc and back is a bit ambitious in 90 min. I would just walk for 5 to 8 minutes and return , you will have a good idea of the coastline. Enjoy
