Maui magische waterval en jungle tour: Weg naar Hana

In totaal woon ik al 25 jaar op het eiland. Ik ben een NAI-gecertificeerde gids met meer dan 500 tours op Maui. Ik geef een eerlijke versie van Hawaiiaanse gebeurtenissen uit het heden en verleden. Ik probeer mijn gasten als mijn vrienden te behandelen en heb met veel van mijn gasten contact onderhouden. Ik heb fotografie gestudeerd en zal de hele dag heel veel foto's van je maken. Aan het einde van de dag zal ik je al deze foto's geven. Ik maak ook gratis een korte video van je avontuur. Ik probeer een ervaring te geven waarbij je het gevoel krijgt dat je bij een vriend(in) bent. De middagtour kent doorgaans minder drukte. We bevinden ons in een regenwoud, dus waar we naartoe gaan, hangt af van het weer. Als je kunt, draag dan indien mogelijk schoenen met een dichte neus en geen slippers. We krijgen de gelegenheid om groene zeeschildpadden en Hawaiiaanse monniksrobben te observeren en te fotograferen.
Dit is een uitzicht op het schiereiland Keanae. U kunt een witte kerk zien gemaakt van koraal en vallei gecreëerd door lava. Vaak zijn walvissen in de wintermaanden in de verte
We dalen af naar het schiereiland Keanae en bekijken het bananenbrood van Sandys en de beroemde kerk van Keanae.
Dit is de plek om van dichtbij en persoonlijk kennis te maken met een verbazingwekkende waterval. Je kunt een foto maken of, als je een echte avonturier bent, er bovenop klimmen en ongeveer zes meter naar beneden over de regenboog springen. Er zijn toiletten en een kleine waterval om in te spelen als je dat wenst.
Dit is een geweldig arboretum dat hier al sinds 1971 staat. De regenboogeucalyptus hier is de meest fotogenieke van het eiland. Er zijn uitzichten op rivieren, bamboe, fakkelgember en mamee-appels. Dit is de plek voor een perfecte foto in het regenwoud van Maui. Alle planten en bomen zijn hier gelabeld, waardoor het de perfecte plek is om meer te weten te komen over de flora van Maui.

We had a beautiful ride in a comfortable van with Eric along the Road to Hana on Tuesday. It was a priceless experience to be with a smart, local gentleman who knows the waterfalls, views, surfing, fauna, wildlife, history and cultural charm of Maui…and enjoys sharing his knowledge with curious tourists like us. He gave us a nice blend of drive-bys and stops that maximized our time on the tour. Highlights for us were seeing over a dozen large sea turtles, swimming in the waterfall and Eric’s perfect jackknife jump, seeing a couple of mongooses for the first time (Rikki-Tikki), and learning about the local lifestyle on Maui. Eric also made sure that we were back in plenty of time for our cruise ship departure. After researching so many tours ahead of time, we felt fortunate to have found this opportunity where we felt very safe on the entire journey…and also finished the day thinking- that was so much fun!!
Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He took us to get some amazing banana bread and great views. We ended the day at a beautiful waterfall which was private to just our tour group. 10/10 would recommend.

Eric was wonderful! A great driver who knew lots about the island and history of the road to Hana! We happened to be the only ones booked for the day so he tailored the trip to what we wanted most! We got to see wildlife, eat delicious Banana bread from Aunt Sandy’s, and experience some great stops on the road to Hana!

This trip was perfect for us since it was only about 6 hours ( half way to Hana). Having a few mobility issues, this was great.

Grrat communication with Eric on meet up. He goes the extra mile. The drive on the harrowing Road to Hana was a real adventure. But he was totally in control even on hairpin curves. Green turtles! Lush greenery. Waterfalls. It was a good day.

This tour is very small no more than 6 people. This made it easy to ask questions. He eas very knowledgeable about plants and the culture. He also took pictures and then sent them to us. At the end of tour he offered to drive us back to our ship which was half an hour away so we wouohave to wait in the rain for a taxi or uber. A very nice person Mai magical tour good

It sounds like the main takeaway was that it felt like a long drive with not as many stops as you were hoping for. Totally fair — the Road to Hana is a bit of a scenic marathon! That said, we did visit all of the stops included in the tour itinerary, and we were lucky enough to have great weather that day. Not every day cooperates the way yours did — you got to see turtles, whales, waterfalls, and even had the chance to jump in at the waterfall, which is about as “Maui day” as it gets!
