Toen de culinaire tradities van Lyon werden gesmeed, slaagden de beroemde "Mères Lyonnaises" (Lyonnaise Mothers) erin om van de Lyon-keuken een instelling te maken. Tegenwoordig domineren mannelijke chefs de scène, zoals de beroemde Paul Bocuse, maar het zijn de vrouwen die de gerenommeerde keuken hebben ontwikkeld. We begeleiden je tijdens deze gastronomische reis doordrenkt met passie, geschiedenis en voortreffelijk Frans eten en wijn. Een warm hoofdgerecht en een glas wijn in een door een familie gerunde Bouchon die bijna 100 jaar geleden voor het eerst werd geopend. Op de menukaart heeft u de keuze uit typische gerechten in Bouchon-stijl, waaronder vlees-, vis- en vegetarische opties.
Hier krijgen we een espresso in een van de beste koffieboetieks van Lyon voordat we terugkeren naar het oudste deel van Hôtel-Dieu, om de koffie te drinken en de laatste 'geheime' zoete lekkernij te proeven om de tour af te sluiten.

Four friends took the Lyon food tour with Ashe. We enjoyed her introduction to the food, culture and history of Lyon. The various sites had tasty offerings and far more than enough food & wine for our evening meal. It was fun exploring the Old Town with Ashe and learning her perspective on life in Lyon. We returned to some of the places we visited in subsequent days for culinary gift purchases.
