De Khor Virap is een Armeens klooster gelegen op de Araratvlakte in Armenië, nabij de gesloten grens met Turkije. De opmerkzaamheid van Kay Virap als klooster- en bedevaartsplek wordt toegeschreven aan het feit dat Gregorius de Illuminator hier in eerste instantie 14 jaar gevangen werd gehouden door koning Tiridates III van Armenië. Heilige Gregorius werd later de godsdienstige mentor van de koning, en zij leidden de bekeringswerkende activiteit in het land. In het jaar 301 was Armenië het eerste land ter wereld dat tot een christelijke natie werd uitgeroepen. [2] [5] [6] Een kapel werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 642 op de site van Khor Virap door Nerses III de bouwer als een teken van verering voor Sint Gregorius.
Areni dorp ligt ongeveer 120 km van Yerevan aan de oevers van de rivier de Arpa. Bij de ingang van het dorp, direct aan de weg aan de linkerkant, bevindt zich een privé-kleine wijnfabriek "Areni", die u kunt bezoeken om kennis te maken met het productieproces, de lokale wijnen kunt proeven.
Noravank is een 13e-eeuws Armeens klooster, gelegen op 122 km van Jerevan in een smalle kloof aan de Amaghu-rivier, in de buurt van de stad Yeghegnadzor, Armenië. De kloof staat bekend om zijn hoge, steile, baksteenrode kliffen, recht tegenover het klooster. Het klooster is het best bekend om zijn twee verdiepingen Surb Astvatsatsin (heilige moeder van God) kerk, die toegang verleent tot de tweede verdieping door middel van een smalle stenen trap gemaakt uit het gezicht van het gebouw, een van de vroegste voorbeelden van cantileverarchitectuur.

Overall it was very good. I just wish there was too easy a wine tasting place and lunch time. As for the driver, I was glad he was right and safe. They stopped by places I didn't plan to visit and Wagamama listened.
Our guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Provided extra direction to us around at each sight to make sure we experienced everything. He was flexible to make an extra stop at Magellan Cave and a local restaurant in Areni. We appreciated being in a mini-van and not in a large tour bus, it was a wonderful experience.
We booked this tour because it was a private car so we could spend more time doing things we wanted without having to wait for a group. It is totally worth it. We aren’t photo takers much so we spent more time exploring and chatting with our guide. He was the absolute nicest person and so down to Earth. Conversation during the drive time was hilarious. We probably enjoyed the conversation more than the tour! lol. Thank you Bayk for the incredible time. We really enjoyed the entire day and were engaged until the final site. We highly recommend this tour!

Gor was a decent tour guide, and his English was better than many! We appreciate his effort to drive us around in the countryside and tell the stories of the places we’ve visited. He also checks on us regularly and sensitive with our needs. Felt safe and enjoyed the experience. He suggested to eat in a restaurant and we enjoyed it!
