De kunst van honing... U bent misschien bekend met wijnproeverijen, maar hoe zit het met honingproeverijen? Met de verschillende soorten honing op ons eiland zul je snel ontdekken dat het proeven van honing eigenlijk best interessant en plezierig is! Als je wilt weten hoe pure Kefalonische honing smaakt, kun je het beste naar Vlachata komen voor een geweldige honingproeverij. Ook kun je het hele honingproductieproces zien. We beginnen de dag met het leren van alles wat we moeten weten over olijfolie. Het grootste deel van het eiland Kefalonia is bedekt met olijfbomen. Het is hier het belangrijkste product voor zowel onze economie als onze keuken. Bij Marina's Oil Mill leren we hoe olijfolie op de moderne manier wordt gemaakt. We zullen ook de verschillende productiemethoden en kwaliteitsniveaus leren. Heb je je ooit afgevraagd wat Extra Vierge Olijfolie betekent? Je zal het merken! In hun proefruimte krijgen we de kans om verschillende oliën en andere Kefalonische producten te proeven.
Voor wijnliefhebbers is een bezoek aan Sarris Winery in Kefalonia een must-do ervaring. Het wijnhuis staat bekend om zijn bekroonde wijnen, prachtige uitzicht en warme gastvrijheid. Wijnproeven bij Sarris Winery gaat niet alleen over het nippen van verschillende wijnen; het is een reis door de smaken van Kefalonia. De wijnproeverij bij Sarris Winery begint met een rondleiding door de wijnmakerij. Je leert over de geschiedenis van de wijnmakerij, het wijnbereidingsproces en de verschillende druivensoorten die op het landgoed worden verbouwd. Het deskundige en vriendelijke personeel begeleidt u tijdens de rondleiding en beantwoordt al uw vragen. Na de rondleiding is het tijd voor de wijnproeverij. De proeverij vindt plaats op een prachtig terras met een prachtig uitzicht op de Ionische Zee. Je zit aan een grote houten tafel, waar het personeel je een selectie wijnen serveert, vergezeld van lokale kazen en traditionele Griekse snacks.

Great host.. private tour just the two of us. Great drive to the three destinations. Bee farm & honey tasting… who knew bees were soooo amazing. Then onto the olive oil. Delicious oils with cheese & bread & tomatoes. Finally the wines. Great views to sample Kefalonias best wines whilst watching the swallows feeding their young. A lovely day and very interesting. Each stop had the products for sale so we purchased a few things and the prices were extremely reasonable.
Would highly recommend this experience along with Dimistris as a tour guide. We viewed some fantastic local businesses on the island producing high quality products with a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. 5 stars!

We spent a wonderful day with our Guide Dimitris, who introduced us to the bounty and beauty of Kefalonia. His knowledge of not only olives, honey and wine is unmatched, but he taught us so much history and background about the Island as well! Highly recommend this tour!
We first did this excursion last September and loved it so much that we had to share it with our families when we returned this Month. Dimitris is so friendly and knowledgeable and has a real passion for sharing the Greek culture! We can't recommend this highly enough, its a truly Authentic experience.
Wow what an amazing way to explore Kefalonia. Not only did we do an original day trip with Dimitris but we then asked them to put together another day trip to include other things we fancied seeing and they were amazing. I feel if you want to probably get a great experience this is the trip you need to book. Thanks again
First of all, Dimitris was outstanding-- his communication was excellent, he showed up early, was very accommodating when it came to making adjustments to our schedule, and he went above and beyond to ensure we got the most out of our time with him. Dimitris is the human embodiment of Greek Philoxenia. The stops were excellent, we learned a lot and the goods these locals are producing are top-notch. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who would like to get taste of Kefalonia's bounty.
We were expecting a good day. But the day fully exceeded our expectations. Each part of it brought us new knowledge of the products as well as of the island. Dimitris was a kind and knowledgeable guide who made us feel relaxed from the very start. We will continue to patronise all of the businesses we visited and look forward to learning more about them.
Perfect for cruisers as Dimitris met us at the dock in his minivan. He personalized all for us and showed us the wharf area, explained history as we left the crowds behind visiting small and excellent family businesses located up a mountain (organic husband and wife bee farm) with honey tasting, honey and bee production, shared their garden and goats! Next we drove through charming small towns to an olive oil company with a tasting room. The owner gave us a tour, let us taste many award winning olive oils while we ate delicious feta cheese, bread and fresh tomatoes. Again, just the two of visiting with the owner and a farmer who was checking on his olive delivery! Last we continued short scenic drive to a terrific small winery with wine tasting at small tables in the vineyard area, again with fresh bread, cheese and olive oil. Dimitris knew everyone and always asked about our wants as well as being a delightful and informative. Would love to go back and highly recommend!
