Onze township-tour is een samengestelde en unieke ervaring van Katutura - het hart van Windhoek. We bieden sociale ontmoetingen met de lokale bevolking, delen een drankje en een snelle en bevredigende maaltijd op de geweldige Oshetu-markt voor een aantal welverdiende lokale delicatessen. De tour biedt inzicht in de geschiedenis en culturele diversiteit van de lokale bevolking, hun manier van leven en dagelijkse uitdagingen. Je wordt begeleid door ervaren en lokale gidsen. De tour wordt authentiek uitgevoerd en alleen met toestemming en echte ontmoeting met de lokale bevolking. Je kunt kennismaken met sociale projecten aan de basis, een school bezoeken of gewoon ontspannen in een lokale bar. Wij maken het voor u mogelijk!

Onze gidsen zullen je ontmoeten bij het startpunt (Craft Cafe). We beginnen onze tour met een korte taxirit naar Pionierspark - de vorige vestigingslocatie.
We rijden langs de oude locatie die de nederzetting was voor de gescheiden bevolking tijdens de apartheid in Namibië. De mensen werden vervolgens gedwongen te verhuizen naar het noorden van de stad.
De tour gaat verder naar de nieuwe nederzetting die bekend staat als Katutura (de plaats waar niemand wil wonen). We rijden door verschillende delen van de township om de diversiteit in cultuur en ontwikkeling te ervaren. We bezoeken een sociaal project aan de basis.
We eindigen onze tour met een echte authentieke ervaring - een bezoek aan de Oshetu-markt in Single Quarters. Je zult lokale keukenopties ervaren en door de straten van Katutura slenteren met onze lokale gidsen.

You don't need a tour for that. Just take a taxi and go there. Not so much to do or to see. A local market.

Throughout the tour, guests explore different areas of the township with knowledgeable local guides who provide insight into the history, culture, daily life, and development of the community. A key part of the experience is the opportunity for genuine social interaction with local residents, businesses, and families, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of life in Katutura beyond what they would typically experience on their own. The tour concludes with a visit to the local market, where guests can enjoy local food and drinks before returning to their accommodation. We understand that every traveller seeks different experiences, and while community-based cultural tours may not appeal to everyone, many of our guests value the personal connections and authentic insights that this experience provides. We had a great half day tour with Linda. We learned heaps about the history and historic places in Windhoek. Then she took us through Katatura and the market and sampled some delicious street food. Linda was fun to spend time with and gave us a great insight into the history and society of Namibia.we really enjoyed her company.
Linda is a great guide; she is very friendly and has a lot of knowledge about Windhoek and Namibia. The tour was very interesting, informative, and allowed us to gain a completely different perspective on the city. Highly recommended!

Our guide Linda is very kind and has a great knowledge about the history of Namibia. Very interesting to get a look at the origins of the republic and the different population groups. The tour in Katutura gave a good insight into the way of life and was, especially in the slums, quite a swallow.....
