Uw chauffeur haalt u op bij uw respectieve hotel om verder te gaan met de stadstour. Eerst bezoek je de Wat Chayamangkalaram Tempel waar het 4e langste Liggende Boeddhabeeld staat.
Aan de overkant van de weg kunt u ook een bezoek brengen aan de Dhammikarama Birmese Tempel, die een Boeddhabeeld op 8,2 meter houdt, waardoor het de hoogste in Maleisië is. Het bestaan van deze twee tempels is te danken aan de vroege vestiging van de Thaise en Birmaanse gemeenschap in de vroege jaren 1800.
Daarna maakt u een schilderachtige rit door de straten van George Town - UNESCO Werelderfgoed en bent u getuige van de woeste achtergelaten door de Britten en lokale bewoners uit het verleden. Bezienswaardigheden: Esplanade / Fort Cornwallis, Little India, straten van rassenharmonie, Chew Jetty, enz.

Onderweg stoppen we voor een gratis proeverij van Penang’s beroemde witte koffie/thee bij Coffee Tree Crown Pewter, waar u ook getuige kunt zijn van een demonstratie van traditioneel Maleisisch handwerk dat wordt gemaakt. Aan het einde van de stadstour brengt de chauffeur u terug naar uw hotel. Als alternatief kunt u verzoeken om te worden afgezet op elke locatie in Georgetown. De chauffeur zal u advies geven over hoe u met eigen vervoer naar uw hotel kunt terugkeren. Als we u ophalen bij de cruiseterminal, zetten we u na de tour ook weer af bij de cruiseterminal.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Gratis ophalen en wegbrengen van het hotel is beschikbaar bij uw hotel binnen een straal van 4 km van het stadscentrum van George Town. Een extra toeslag geldt voor ophalingen buiten de straal van 1 km en dient te worden betaald op de dag van de activiteit. Wij bieden ook pick-up bij de cruise terminal (dock). Geef ons uw dock informatie en vertrektijd voorafgaand aan de tour, zodat we uw pick-up dienovereenkomstig kunnen regelen.

I was so surprised when I meet my driver and found out that I was the only passenger. My travel companion had a severe headache and she unfortunately did not attend. it was an amazing trip, with so many Temples and areas to visit. I unfortunately had to cut the trip short, and I hated to leave as it was such a great friendly trip.

Pre-booked this private excursion rather than using expensive cruise lines offering. Received clear/concise joining details from Ronnie who was to be our driver/guide for the half day tour. We had visited Georgetown before, but several years ago, and there has been quite a lot of development since our previous visits. Our first stop was at Padang Esplanade, then onto the Temple of the Goddess of Mercy. Ronnie recommended that we visit the Georgetown Mansion, which we duly did. The English speaking guide there was very good, informative & quite a character. This was followed by a visit to Wat Chayamangkalaram Thai Buddist temple, which houses one of the world's longest reclining Buddha statues at 33 metres & literally across the road to take in a Burmese Temple. Or trip concluded with a quick revisit to the E & O Hotel before being dropped off back at the (very) nearby Cruise Terminal. Can thoroughly recommend this excursion, Ronnie was a very knowledgeable & personable driver/guide, so it's a 5 star rating!

A drive around highlights. Driver was lovely but basi Engkish, csr could have done with a clean too. Everything walkable from the cruise ship top and quicker than drivong

Sally took us to the 2 famous temples , Thailand & Burma, which were amazing to see, along with sites and shopping areas. Went to the Jetty area and toured how families live in this village, We passed on the hawker center- should not have done that- but we stopped at a local restaurant on the way back to the port to enjoy the quaintness and drinks. Would recommend taking this tour if you want a private excursion to see the temples .
Dear travelers, Sally took us on a wonderful half-day tour of Georgetown and Penang City. She guided us to two of the most famous temples, Thailand and Burma, which were truly amazing to see. We also explored local sites, shopping areas, and the Jetty, where we got a glimpse of village life and how families live there. While we skipped the hawker center, we stopped at a charming local restaurant on the way back to the port to enjoy the atmosphere and drinks. The guy was really great. He provided the best information about the whole of Penang city. We had tons of information about the city's history. We went through Chew Jetty and multiple places inside Georgetown. He gave us a better explanation of how things went by etc. etc. so yeah we liked it pretty much. Thank you.
