De enige tour in Williamsburg die de geschiedenis van de slavernij in één presentatie geeft. We bespreken wat wel en niet slavernij is. We ontkrachten de mythen die al generaties lang met slavernij worden geassocieerd. We zijn ook de enige tour die de impact op onze moderne samenleving verkent.

Onze tour begint bij de Windmill op Francis St, waar we de verschillen zullen bespreken tussen huisslavernij en plantageslavernij, de opkomst van tabak als het marktgewas van Virginia en de arbeid die ermee gemoeid is.
Voor het Colonial Capitol-gebouw en praat over de oorsprong van slavernij in Virginia, de wettelijke definitie en de wetten die zijn aangenomen om het op zijn plaats te houden.
In het gerechtsgebouw zullen we ontdekken hoe de wetten werden gehandhaafd. Opmerking: toegang tot Colonial Williamsburg (Randolph-huis, gerechtsgebouw) $ 49,99 (niet vereist, we komen niet binnen).

What an amazing and eye opening tour. We had parents and kids aged 10-16 and everyone loved it. Tour gives history from a socio economic and political point of view with real life places and building to help tell the story. Great history lesson for us all!
