Reisroute

Amazing adventure! The people working colonies are so knowledgeable and friendly! We loved the experience. I would recommend it to everyone! Well kept sites, clean, easy to navigate. They had cooling tents since it was hot out.
The tour guide Elizabeth was wonderful. Very informative. Very nice person. She answered people’s questions. I would highly recommend this company Viator.
We were very disappointed with the lack of docents to give information. It’s a huge place and if you have difficulty walking at least 3 miles you will want to rent a scooter and that price was $70 not $55 as indicated on their website.
Thank you for your feedback. To clarify, regarding the scooter rental, that is a private company. Colonial Williamsburg does not rent scooters. We did check their website and they do advertise $70 as the rate for scooters that can handle up to 325 pounds. Regarding docents, the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Trades and Skills community uses 18th-century tools and techniques to apprentice in and eventually master more than 20 historic trades and skills. They interact with all guests when visiting the trade building. Our historical buildings, such as the Capitol, the Palace and the Wythe House have tour guides to provide information.
Colonial Williamsburg is a must, so beautiful. Great history and Characters stayed in the period. Martha Washington was great. There is lots of walking - scooters are avail.
My adult daughter and I are here and enjoying every minute. HISTORY is fun! Learn from the experts who are trying to preserve and educate 🩷
This history-loving grandma loved seeing the grands get excited about learning more about the beginnings of our country. They loved the games, the plays, and even were attentive on the tours. They loved the musket firings and the militia training, even though they got fired at the end! One of our favorite things was the horse drawn carriage ride through town. And the art museum was so cool. I would like to return and spend a whole day there!
We are so happy that your grandchildren soaked in all of the history and that it was presented with games, plays and the militia to make it extra interesting for the. Also delighted that you visited the Art Museums. There is so much more to see there than art! We look forward to seeing you again. Kind regards.
Colonial Williamsburg takes you back in time. They dress in historical costume, there are many homes and buildings from back in the distant pass. Alot to see and do. Horse buggy ride, historical buildings, taverns to dine in, so much history. Also did Yorktown and Jamestown which have alot to see as well. Museums, restaurants, good way to see how America came about especially in the 250th anniversary.
We are delighted that you enjoyed the American Historic Triangle! You are exactly right that it is a great year to visit with the 250th anniversary. We look forward to seeing you and your family again.
Great learning experience for our grandchildren. The adults also learned a lot about our history. While in the area we did Yorktown and Jamestown.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you and your family, including the grandchildren, enjoyed learning about history during your visit to Colonial Williamsburg. It's great that you were able to explore nearby attractions like Yorktown and Jamestown as well. We appreciate you sharing your experience!
I was amazed at the size of this attraction. You could easily spend a day there. There were many in costume assistants ready to give you historical highlights and assistance. This is a must see attraction if you are in the area.

Pros: There is a lot to see walking around, and it looks beautiful. You can do it in a day or possibly two. We were especially impressed by the Weavers and the Bookbinders, they gave great history and explanations. The Blacksmith was good too. Was not crowded on an October Tuesday. The bus that goes around the outer ring of the town is VERY useful, especially at night. Cons: It seems a bit haphazard what will be open. We found a few shops/buildings that were closed. And the historical experience seemed to vary depending on who was working in a shop. My biggest complaint is that we bought tickets for Jamestown, Yorktown and CW ahead of time online, and still had to wait in a long line at the ticket desk because their systems don't seem to talk to each other. Very annoying. But I'm glad we did it and would recommend to anyone.
Thank you for your helpful feedback - we truly appreciate it. We do offer two additional ticket locations - our Arts Museum and the Lumber Ticket House. Safe travels.
