Gelegen op 8 km. uit de stad Puno. Tijdens deze excursie bezoeken we een van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de Punobaai van het Titicacameer: een oude beschaving die leeft in het riet of totorales, een Aymara-sprekende gemeenschap die tot op de dag van vandaag haar vaardigheden zoals vissen, vogels jagen en eieren verzamelen in stand houdt. De mannen zijn bekwame bouwers en bestuurders van totoravlotten, terwijl de vrouwen bedreven zijn in het borduren van tapijten. Deze beschaving blijft liever geïsoleerd van de beschavingen op het vasteland.

The tour to the island we went to was very nice, and the guide was very cool.
Our time on the islands was magnificent! The guide was very friendly and spoke good English. The people on the islands were very kind and welcomed us warmly.

Went on the afternoon slot which was perfect, not so cold with warm sunshine. Roly our guide was excellent, very informative, kind and helpful. More a living museum and definitely worth the experience for 3 hours and a relatively inexpensive trip while in Puno.

About Uros: to feel what it is to be on a floating island, to realize how they are built and to be able to see inside the houses where they live is an interesting experience; About Taquile: the landscape is cinematic and the lunch at the Salvador restaurant was delicious, we were also able to learn curiosities about the customs of the local inhabitants which was very enriching; however it is important to reinforce that the tour in general is quite touristic, with the typical stops for shopping and about 3h in total boat trips. Our guide was Fredy (who was really from the islands!!) and Captain Jonathan who were very available and clarified all the questions we asked. We like it!
