Een dagexcursie naar Khor Virap, Noravank Monastery en Areni Winery. Tijdens de rondleiding heb je de mogelijkheid om een prachtig uitzicht te hebben op de Bijbelse berg Ararat. Ontdek de geschiedenis van Noravank en proef Armeense wijn in de wijnfabriek. De tour begint om 09:00 uur. We zullen u informeren over de exacte tijd als we toeristen hebben van meerdere hotels. De eerste plaats is Khor Virap, ongeveer een uur rijden van Yerevan. Het biedt een geweldig uitzicht op de berg Ararat en Sis. Je kunt vanuit Armenië prachtige foto's maken van het dichtstbijzijnde punt naar de berg Ararat. Daarna gaan we verder naar het Noravank-klooster. In Noravank zullen we de kerken van St. Karapet, St. Grigory de Illuminator en St. Astvatsatsin bezoeken. We stoppen in een lokaal restaurant voor de lunch. (De prijs van de lunch is niet inbegrepen in de prijs) Na de lunch vervolgen we onze weg naar Areni Winery, waar u de Armeense wijnproductie kunt zien en ook kunt proeven. Later zullen we terugkeren naar Yerevan

Het klooster is waar Sint Gregorius de Verlichter 13 jaar gevangen zat in een diepe ondergrondse kerker (Khor Virap betekent "diepe put" in het Armeens). Khor Virap biedt een van de beste en meest nabije uitzichten op de legendarische berg Ararat, het nationale symbool van Armenië.
Genesteld in een smalle, rode kalksteenkloof, biedt Noravank een adembenemend uitzicht op ruige kliffen en de natuur. Noravank was het spirituele en culturele centrum voor de Orbelse dynastie, met verschillende koninklijke graven binnen.
Wijntour en wijnproeverij
Archeologen ontdekten een 6.100 jaar oude wijnproductiefaciliteit, waaronder fermentatievaten, druivenpersen en voorraadpotten. In de grot werd een goed bewaarde leren schoen gevonden, die dateert uit 3500 v.Chr., waarmee het de oudst bekende leren schoen ter wereld is.

Excellent day trip covering a lot of ground. Arsen was a fabulous tour guide, taking the time to translate to just me, being the only non-Russian speaker in the group. There was plenty of visit time at each stop and English speaking guides were provided at the Bird Cave and Areni Winery, which was much appreciated. Well worth booking!
Good, but..... try to do a tour only in English when it is mixed with Russian or Armenian you have to go after the guide to ask him because he only explains half of it. On the other hand, I did not have a good experience on the journey, up to 3 times I told the driver to take the steering wheel with both hands because he was looking for songs on his cell phone. It was scary
I had an interesting day in Armenia. Saw a lot of historical places and the tour ended with an amazing wine degustation. Our tour guide Nektar was very helpful and talked history about the places that we visited and about Armenia generally.:)

The places are beautiful, close to the capital, the route is optimized to see each stage calmly. Both the monasteries and the cave are very interesting as well as well maintained. Noravank is worth the tour alone, spectacular. The guide, Arsen, speaks exceptional English and is very professional, as well as nice and friendly. Satisfied!

I made several tours and enjoyed this one a lot! Yes the sites are definitely worth visiting!! But also the service, the company is fantastic! We were a small group. We were not overloaded with irrelevant information. But we got the most important and all questions were happily answered. We got the time we needed and felt free to explore, but same time everything was perfectly organised. The overall atmosphere was more familiar, Arsen is a really friendly guide and I would have done more tours if I would have not done others before. This was my last one in Armenia and the best!! Highly recommendable!! Thank you so much Arsen and hopefully see again!
