Ontdek het lokale eten, de wijn en het (historische) verhaal achter het Catalaanse mediterrane dagelijkse leven tijdens deze begeleide ochtendtour! Begin uw culinaire verkenning van het middeleeuwse Girona tijdens deze verrukkelijke 'all-in' begeleide wandeling en bekijk de culturele hoogtepunten van onze prachtige stad, terwijl u zich er een weg doorheen baant. Op een leuke en leerzame manier leidt onze gepassioneerde foodie-gids je door de oude stad, laat je de verborgen juweeltjes zien en vertelt je de verhalen en legendes achter de Catalaanse cultuur, eten en culinaire tradities. Je bezoekt de lokale, overdekte voedselmarkt, bruisende bakkerijen, traditionele, door een familie gerunde lokale eetgelegenheden en ontmoet ambachtelijke voedselproducenten (sommige van hen zijn al meer dan 100 jaar 'in bedrijf'!). En natuurlijk kun je ons land niet verlaten zonder de Spaanse lekkernij Jamon Iberico te proeven, gecombineerd met een gekoeld glas cava. We sluiten onze tour af met een gastronomisch ijsje bij Rocambolesc, de beroemdste ijssalon van Girona door Jordi Roca.

De Peixateries Velles-brug, ook wel bekend als de Eiffelbrug, is een rode constructie die in Girona oprijst, met name over de rivier de Onyar.
Bezoek verschillende lokale eetgelegenheden, restaurants en de lokale markt in de oude binnenstad van Girona met onderweg een grote verscheidenheid aan proeverijen. Je ziet de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de oude binnenstad van Girona, zoals de kathedraal, de Pont de Pedre, de Eiffelbrug, de Rambla, de Placa del Vi, de kathedraal, de Joodse wijk, het Onafhankelijkheidsplein en nog veel meer. Marc was very friendly and engaging. He stayed in touch with me leading up to the tour. He provided clear directions about where to park. We enjoyed a blend of local history and amazing local food experiences. Not only did Marc provide the local flavors but also the stories behind them. We left full ans happy!! Great introduction to beautiful Girona!! He loves his city and family and is proud to share them.

10/10. This is a must do experience when you are in Girona. We booked directly with Girona Food Tours when I didn't see the date we were hoping for here. They were happy to accommodate us and since no one else booked that day, we ended up on a private tour with Marco for a small fee and it was worth every penny. Our family learned so much about Girona, its history and culture, Spain, and of course the food. So much great food. Marco was a fabulous guide who clearly loves what he does. The tour was fun and super educational, we ate great foods of all kinds, got to meet local shop owners and learn about their products and history, and of course experienced the beauty of Girona. We love taking a food tour when arriving in a new city and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Learning from a local adds a whole other level of experiences to travel. When learning about our plans for our 5 night stay (stay several days in Girona!) Marco let us know our plans would not likely accomplish our goals as we just didn't know the ins and outs like a local does, and he offered to take us on a tour to the areas we wanted to see. Again, 10/10!! If you also want to see Medieval villages, a winery, ancient ruins, breath-taking views of the Costa Brava areas and spend time on the smaller coastal beaches, ask Marco about other private tour options. You will have an amazing time!

We had such an incredible tour! Coming into the region without knowing much about its history nor its cuisine did not matter. Marc, our tour guide blew us away with both! We learned so much about the region and the town. We had incredible food and Marc took it a step further with us and helped recommend other food in other nearby towns that we'd be going to later in the trip. Overall, a 10/10 experience!

Marc was a knowledgeable guide who led us through the city, providing historic and contemporary insights. We only had 24 hours in Girona and it was a great way to see the city, eat local food, and learn. Marc was flexible and super helpful when our travel plans changed. Would definitely do it again!

With 22 participants, a family, 3 generations, between 71 years and 3 months... You can stand on it. Marc offered a program full of stories and experiences for the youngest and at the same time informatively relaxed and delicious (!) for the adults. Top day!

What a wonderful experience. We were 12 golfers from Ireland. Gina was the perfect host, good fun, friendly and knowledgeable. We ate the most amazing food and drink very good wine.
