Giron-waterval en Busa-meer
Beschrijving
Geniet van een rit tussen prachtige boerderijen om de waterval El Chorro de Giron te bereiken, waar we door het nevelwoud zullen wandelen. Later zullen we het meer van Busa bezoeken, waar we een wandeling omheen zullen maken.

Dit is een dag vol contrasten. We beginnen onze dag met rijden door het altijd groene en rijke ranchland van de Tarqui-vallei. De eerste stop is op een van de belangrijkste historische plaatsen van de onafhankelijkheidsgevechten. Vanaf hier kunt u het prachtige landschap van de Andes waarderen. Vervolgens bereiken we de watervallen van El Chorro de Giron, een verbazingwekkend gebied van nevelwoud bedekt met bromelia's, orchideeën en zachtgroen mos. Hier wandel je door de weelderige vegetatie om de watervallen te bereiken, een 250 voet hoge waterval.
Daarna rijden we naar het meer van Busa, waar we een korte wandeling rond de rand zullen maken, waar u kunt genieten van het prachtige uitzicht. We stoppen voor de lunch in een lokaal restaurant en keren terug naar Cuenca.

I have traveled all over the world and Diego is easily the best travel guide I’ve ever had. I will hands down use him the next time I am in Ecuador. His knowledge of everything - history, culture, food, drink, flora, fauna, art, etc. is incredible. He’s fun, interesting, easy to talk to. I booked a solo tour and had a wonderful time. He really cares about you doing the things you would like to do. The dude knows everything about Ecuador and will answer anything with such a passion that you remember. I feel confident relating this information now when I share these stories. This was the highlight of my travels in Ecuador. Stop hesitating, and book it! Or message and ask Diego what other tours he has. I know he offers a number of them!
Had a great time with Luis! He was very informative and took the time to talk about anything! The falls were amazing and the hike were all steps so not bad at all. Busa lake was a bit of a let down after the falls but it was a nice recreation area and would have been great with warmer weather. Overall, the tour was very good, and our guide made it better!!

Giron Waterfall and Busa Lake were gorgeous. Diego was my guide and he was insightful and knowledgeable, not only about the culture, but about the indigenous flora as well. Beautiful countryside, and great tour guide!

The first location, Giron falls was great. The second location, Busa Lake was not worth the drive. Apparently it's only really used on weekends. When we arrived on the Monday there was construction happening all through the parking lot (it was hard to get through to actually park) and honestly there was not really much of anything to see aside from a very small lake. We were there for a total of about 10 minutes. The driver was not the best -- he spent a considerable amount of time texting on his mobile phone while driving through mountain roads. He was also VERY interested in my female companion but barely said a word to me (a male). Not to the point of being creepy but not far off. In previous tours I have had drivers that were full of knowledge and seeming to enjoy telling you this information. This driver honestly seemed like he had other things to do. At one point he at least actually pulled over to take a phone call for a few minutes. I wouldn't do this trip again.
