Wat te zien op de weg naar Stepantsminda (Kazbegi)- Kazbegi (sinds 2007 omgedoopt tot Stepantsminda) is de eerste grote nederzetting aan de Georgische kant van de Georgische militaire snelweg. De bezienswaardigheden van Kazbegi omvatten natuurlijke en architectonische monumenten die de moeite waard zijn. Old Mount Kazbek is eigenlijk een uitgedoofde vulkaan die 2,5 duizend jaar geleden voor het laatst is uitgebarsten. Kerk Gergeti, tegen de achtergrond van Kazbeg is niet alleen een uitzicht vanaf een ansichtkaart, het is een gezicht zonder welke het onmogelijk is om te zeggen dat iemand in Georgië is geweest. Het gebouw zelf ziet er nogal ascetisch uit, het staat niet vol met luxe decoraties, architectonische hoogstandjes. Kazbegi-tour is de geheimen van de vier kloven.

Zhinvali-reservoir - Ondanks het feit dat het woord "reservoir" een associatie kan creëren van een gebied met een groot aantal ijzeren reservoirs voor water, is alles precies het tegenovergestelde. Zhinvali, gelegen op 70 km van Tbilisi, valt op door zijn schoonheid en in reliëf lijkt het erg op de Scandinavische fjorden.
Fort Ananuri - Het fort Ananuri ligt op 70 kilometer van de hoofdstad. In 1723 verborgen koning Teimuraz en de Kakhetiërs zich hier voor de aanvallen van de Avaren, die tevergeefs probeerden het fort te belegeren en te veroveren. Ananuri (eind 16e eeuw), het belangrijkste bolwerk aan de Georgische militaire snelweg, was erg populair bij reizigers, omdat het aan de samenvloeiing van de Aragvi en de Wajathevi-rivier ligt.
Friendship of Nations Arch - Het panoramische uitzicht dat zich opent bij de Cross Pass vanuit deze unieke architecturale structuur, kan niemand onverschillig laten. De boog staat op een hoogte van 2384 meter. Gelegen op het observatiedek van de mensen zal de ware kracht van de Kaukasische rotsachtige natuur voelen.
Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) - Zo vaak beschreven in poëtische en prozaïsche werken van verschillende schrijvers, is Kazbek het op één na hoogste punt in Georgië na de "Shkhara". Het is uniek en het feit dat het grondgebied van Stepantsminda een tempel is genaamd "Gergeti". Het werd gebouwd in de 14e eeuw. De constructie van de tempel verdient speciale aandacht, omdat alle materialen handmatig tot een enorme hoogte zijn opgetild.

Interesting tour. Good guide. Only pity is you get cramped into a minibus with as many seats as possible so no legroom at all. Would have booked different operator had I known, even if it came at an extra cost given the time you spend in the bus.
It was a good experience and the group were nice! Thanks Alex for arranging everything! We had free time to walk around and take photos and the tour guide was trying so hard to make the atmosphere positive and relaxing.

We spent eight days of tour in central and eastern Georgia with Aleko Makharadze. We drove a couple thousand kilometers with a beautiful interlocutor, learning people, history, nature! Aleko's awareness, mobility, patience, openness and friendliness are striking! Glad to have placed our full trust in his choice of places, cities, museums and attractions visited. And the smiles and laughter from his stories and anecdotes never left us. When we came to this country, we made a friend. We will visit the western and southern part of Georgia with him and only him, God willing, the next time we arrive. We wish Aleko well, good luck in his difficult business and, of course, generous guests! With respect and a deep Slavic bow, not a large group of Belarusians...

The trip was well-organized and very interesting. We visited many places and always has enough time to see everything, make photos, etc. The guide was amazing. She has a huge konwledge about Georgia and shared with us many interesting facts. Very recommended!! ;)
