Begin bij de schilderachtige Boog van Charents, een panoramisch uitzichtpunt met uitzicht op de Bijbelse berg Ararat. Ga verder naar de 1e-eeuwse Garni Tempel, de enige overgebleven heidense tempel in de Kaukasus, gewijd aan de zonnegod Mihr. Bewonder in de omgeving de adembenemende Symphony of Stones, dramatische basaltkolommen gevormd door vulkanische krachten gedurende millennia. Verken het door UNESCO beschermde Geghardklooster, dat deels is uitgehouwen in de kliffen van de Boven-Azatvallei. Maak je ervaring compleet met een traditionele Lavash-bakceremonie in een Tonir-oven — het iconische brood van Armenië, erkend door UNESCO als immaterieel cultureel erfgoed.

De eerste stop is in de buurt van de Boog van de Charelen, die genoemd is ter ere van de Armeense dichter Eghishe Charents, die het beste gedicht schreef, gewijd aan Armenië, vol ware liefde en trots. Vanaf deze plek opent een adembenemend uitzicht op Ararat, waarschijnlijk het mooiste uitzicht op de bijbelse berg.
De volgende stop is de Garni-tempel (77 na Christus) - het is de enige nog bestaande heidense tempel in het hele post-Sovjet-gebied. De tempel staat sierlijk op een hoog plateau met uitzicht op de Azat rivierkloof. De omgeving zelf is ongelooflijk mooi. Het Grieks-Romeinse badhuis met het mozaïek, gemaakt van 30.000 stukken natuursteen, evenals de ruïnes van het koninklijk paleis, brengen je naar de 3e eeuw na Christus. Niet ver van de tempel van Garni (ongeveer 10 minuten lopen), is er een gezellig lokaal restaurant met een prachtig uitzicht op de tempel, waar u kunt ontspannen en deelnemen aan de masterclass van het proeven van vers gebakken lavash - traditioneel Armeens platbrood .
Dit majestueuze natuurmonument is niet alleen een “must see” plaats in Armenië, maar ook “must have photos in” plaats. Let op* De gasten kunnen de "Symphony of Stones" bezoeken tot de eerste sneeuwval.
Het kloostercomplex van Geghard is een andere historische site die bij deze tour is inbegrepen. St. Geghard symboliseert de lans waarmee de Romeinse centurion Jezus na de kruisiging doorstak. Later werd de lans naar Armenië gebracht en gedurende 5 eeuwen in het Geghard-klooster bewaard. Het complex presenteert Armenië van de 13e eeuw, dat wordt beschouwd als de Gouden Eeuw van de architectuur van het land. Het meest verbazingwekkende van dit complex is echter de architecturale oplossing van kerken die zijn geboord in de massieve rots die zijn gebouwd in overeenstemming met de regels van de Armeense architectuur. Het Geghard-klooster staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO.

The tour is 19pax, not small but it charges a premium as small group. The itenary is good, with only 6 hours. The Symphony of Stones, the Geghard and lavash making all are unique experiences that makes the tour worthwhile.

Drove on June 14. We're very pleased. The tour is interesting - a lot of information on history, religion, traditions - and it's all accessible, easy to perceive. Guide Rubina talked all the way, answered all the questions exhaustively. The driver was driving us carefully. The car had air conditioning, the water in the fridge - the conditions were perfect. The route was thought out in detail. Despite Sunday and the crowds everywhere, there were no delays or expectations. A nice bonus in the form of local sweets. Definitely recommend travel agency and itinerary.
