"De kathedraal van Etchmiadzin (letterlijke vertaling : De nederdaling van de Eniggeborene) is het centrum van de Armeens-Apostolische kerk die oorspronkelijk in het begin van de 3e eeuw voor Christus werd gebouwd en een aantal bronnen vermelden ook dat Etchmiadzin de oudste officiële christelijke kerk ter wereld is. Dit is uw kans om zo'n unieke en unieke plek in de wereld te bezoeken en te verkennen! De kerk van St. Hripsime is gewijd aan een van de 40 maagden die ontsnapten uit het Romeinse rijk. De Sint-Gayanakerk is een driebeukige koepelbasiliek, vernoemd naar een van de maagden die uit Rome ontsnapte en later tot heilige van de Armeens-Apostolische Kerk werd verheven. De ruïnes van Zvartnots Tample vertegenwoordigen een werkelijk uniek - 3 verdiepingen cirkelvormig koepelvormig architectonisch meesterwerk. Het Geghardklooster of Ayrivank is een belangrijke architectonische, historische en religieuze bezienswaardigheid in Armenië.

Je bezoekt de St. Hripsime-kerk, die werd gebouwd op het graf van een christelijke non Hripsime die het Romeinse rijk ontvluchtte en in Armenië werd vermoord. Dit verbazingwekkende gebouw staat rechtop vanaf de dag van de bouw sinds 618 na Christus, waardoor het een van de oudste nog staande kerken ter wereld is.
De Moederkathedraal van Heilige Etchmiadzin dient als geestelijk centrum van de Armeens-Apostolische Kerk. De kathedraal is een symbool van de Armeense nationale identiteit en erfgoed, als weerspiegeling van de diepgewortelde christelijke traditie van het land.
Op 5 minuten rijden ligt de volgende halte: de 7e eeuwse kerk van St. Gayane. Gayane was de oppas van Hripsime en deelde het tragische lot van Hripsime.
We maken een stop bij een andere prachtige 7e eeuwse tempel, ook opgenomen in de UNESCO erfgoedlijst. Volgens de legende betekent de naam "Zvartnots" "hemelse engelen", geïnspireerd door het geloof dat engelen ooit over de tempel waakten.
Het kloostercomplex van Geghard, dat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat, is een andere historische plek die deel uitmaakt van deze privétour. De naam "Geghard" is afgeleid van de speer (geghard) die de zijkant van Jezus Christus zou hebben doorboord, die vele jaren in het klooster was gehuisvest. Het Geghardklooster wordt beschouwd als een van de belangrijkste religieuze plaatsen in Armenië. Het meest verbazingwekkende is dat deze kerk recht in de massieve rots is uitgehouwen.
Garni Gorge is een prachtige natuurlijke attractie gelegen in Armenië, in de buurt van het dorp Garni. Het staat ook bekend als de "Symfonie van Stenen" vanwege de unieke rotsformaties die een prachtige symfonie van kleuren en vormen creëren. * Het bezoek aan de Symfonie van Stenen is onder voorbehoud van weersomstandigheden.
Deze tour laat je kennismaken met de exotische heidense geschiedenis van Armenië en laat de latere ontwikkeling en verspreiding van het christendom in het land zien. De Garni-tempel (77 na Christus) is de enige nog bestaande heidense tempel in het hele post-Sovjetgebied. De tempel staat op een hoog plateau met uitzicht op de Azat rivierkloof. Het is ook de thuisbasis van het Romeinse badhuis met het mysterieuze mozaïek, gemaakt van 30.000 stukken natuursteen, evenals de ruïnes van het koninklijk paleis, daterend uit de 3e eeuw na Christus.
Charents Arch, met uitzicht op de Ararat-vallei, biedt bezoekers een adembenemend uitzicht op de berg Ararat en het omliggende landschap, waardoor een perfecte achtergrond ontstaat voor gedenkwaardige foto's.

Perfect booking process. Contacting them was easy through the portal or WhatsApp. All questions regarding the tour were answered more or less immediately. Our driver Rafael was punctual to the minute in front of our hotel and safely chauffeured us through the day with his relaxed and considerate driving style. This time, I asked for a driver, not a guide. The driver, Mr. Armand, was very kind and taught me a lot about Armenia. We didn't have a common language, so we communicated through apps, but we had no problem communicating. Srbuhi (Sana), my guide, was very professional, polite and well informed. My driver, Suren, was also professional and drove safely through areas that had snow in the ground. He was cautious which was welcomed. The pace of the tour was just right to allow full enjoyment of the sites we visited. I am deducting one star since I was a bit disappointed at the head office that wouldn't arrange for the return of my hat that was left in the car. I didn’t think it would be such a big deal to have someone drop it off at my hotel on their way to another tour. Perhaps, as a regular traveler, I was expecting for a bit more post-tour customer service. I bought a new hat😃
