Deze tour combineert de grandeur van Chichen Itza met het comfort van reizen in nieuwe, van airconditioning voorziene busjes en de veiligheid van begeleiding door gecertificeerde gidsen. Reisroute
Deze rondleiding begint om 7:00 uur. De rit vanuit Mérida duurt naar schatting 45 minuten. Daarna stoppen we bij een supermarktje waar u water en snacks voor de reis kunt kopen. Om 8:00 uur vertrekken we naar onze eerste bestemming, Chichén Itzá, een rit van 2 uur.
Bij aankomst op de archeologische vindplaats kunt u toegangskaarten kopen (het is belangrijk te vermelden dat deze toegangskaart niet is inbegrepen en bij aankomst contant met Mexicaanse peso's of met een kaart moet worden betaald). Er zijn twee uur gereserveerd voor een rondleiding over de archeologische opgraving onder begeleiding van een gids. De belangrijkste monumenten worden in de volgende volgorde bezocht: het observatorium van Caracol, het ossuarium, de markt, de groep van duizend zuilen, het kasteel, het Maya-balveld, Tzompantli, het platform van Venus en de heilige cenote.
Dan stappen we in de truck en rijden naar de Ik Kil cenote, die op 15 minuten rijden ligt. Je gaat direct naar binnen met de armbanden die de gids je geeft. Hier heb je kluisjes om je spullen in op te bergen, er zijn toiletten en douches om je om te kleden. Het gebruik van een zwemvest is verplicht. Het is belangrijk om een zwempak en waterschoenen te dragen (als je geen waterschoenen hebt, moet je de cenote zonder schoenen betreden). In totaal heeft u 1,5 uur de tijd ter plaatse, verdeeld in 15 minuten om u om te kleden, 1 uur om te zwemmen en 15 minuten om u weer om te kleden (het is belangrijk dat u een handdoek meeneemt).
De volgende halte ligt op 15 minuten afstand en is het restaurant van Hacienda Yay Beh D´Cámara, waar u 1 uur de tijd heeft om te genieten van een heerlijk buffet met diverse Mexicaanse gerechten. Bij het eten is een drankje (gearomatiseerd vers water) inbegrepen.
Ten slotte gaan we naar Izamal, dat op 1 uur rijden ligt. We maken een rondleiding door de magische stad, bezoeken het klooster en het centrale plein, bekend als de stad van de drie culturen, omdat het de pre-Spaanse en koloniale geschiedenis van de staat combineert en tegelijkertijd het hedendaagse leven weerspiegelt; Als u door de straten loopt, valt u een opvallend detail op: alle huizen zijn geel en wit geschilderd. Hier krijgt u 20 minuten uitleg van de gids en heeft u 40 minuten vrije tijd in het hoofdpark.
We eindigen de tour op hetzelfde ontmoetingspunt waar we u 's ochtends hebben opgehaald. Tussen 18:30 en 19:00 uur De terugreis naar Mérida vanuit Izamal duurt 1 uur.

We nemen een dag van tevoren via WhatsApp contact met u op om u aanbevelingen over de tour te sturen en u aan de vertrektijd te herinneren. Passagiers stappen in het voertuig in de volgorde waarin ze op kantoor zijn aangekomen, dus het is aan te raden om ongeveer 10 minuten voor 7:00 uur aanwezig te zijn.

- Draag comfortabele kleding om te wandelen (frisse kleding, lichte kleuren en comfortabele schoenen)
- Zwemkleding en handdoek apart meenemen, in de cenote zijn badkamers en douches aanwezig
- Draag een pet of hoed en een zonnebril.
- Neem een officieel identiteitsbewijs mee als u Mexicaan bent
- In het busje bevindt zich een koelkast met ijs om de meegebrachte drankjes in te bewaren.
- Geniet van een goed ontbijt voordat u op pad gaat
- Je kunt de toegang tot Chichen Itza contant of met pin betalen, direct ter plaatse.
- Niet aanbevolen voor reizigers die moeite hebben met lopen of een wandelstok gebruiken

They were very punctual with departures and arrivals, our guide Jonny was very cool, attentive, and takes the best photos!👌🏼 The tour is very well put together; at Chichén Itzá you do suffer from the heat, but with the stop at the cenote you cool off very well. The cenote is one of the best I have visited (clean and well-maintained facilities) and the food is very good and plentiful! You do have to bring a lunch for breakfast.

With heavy heart I have to say that unfortunately we did not enjoy this tour. We decided to book with Colibrì because of the high reviews and the fact it included both Chichén Itzá and Cenote Ik Kil, which we really wanted to visit. Travelling by ADO and not having a car meant that we had to rely on a tour. We didn’t imagine, however, that this would penalise us and lessen our experience of the archeological site. This wasn’t our first site tour in Mexico and, although it was supposed to be the most special, it has also been the poorest. Time was not managed, in my opinion, correctly and with less than 2 hours within the site we found ourselves running in extreme heat to exit the site (just the walk back to the entrance takes 20/30 minutes) to reach the meeting point. This happened not because we wasted time, but merely because we wanted to try and explore the entirety of the site. The guided tour only touched the sacred Cenote, Kukulcan temple and juego de la pelota court with no free time left (we had to walk away from the guide once realised we only had 30 minutes left). It is a pity because we will never get our time back and it was cut short… not allowing us to make the most of a very steep entrance ticket. To make matters worse, the stop in Izamal was way to long (even more so as we were caught in torrential rain and made to get off anyway), I wish that time would been allocated to more free time in Chichén Itzá. I think Izamal could just be a photo stop. I cannot say how this tour compares to others in the area but I can say that if I could do it all over again I would try to find a different solution. Unfortunately it was a true disappointment. A point in their favour is that everything advertised has in fact been offered day of.

Excellent, it is a tour that requires energy because there are several activities, everything well organized, the transportation comfortable, the places are wonderful but it is made better by learning and understanding it thanks to the information they share with us. We enjoyed it from beginning to end. Many thanks to Jorge and Diego, 10/10, they make the trip entertaining, always attentive; we would definitely take a tour with them again.

The food was terrible, and the guide did not know as much about the site as you’d expect. The guide did not stop whistling for the entire time we were in the van which drove everyone out of their minds. The whistling started at 7am and did not stop until we got back. I literally can’t describe how annoying it was. The organization was nice to get to various sites but we didn’t have much time at Chichen Itza either. It’s probably better to just rent a car and do it all on your own, especially if you want to see all of Chichen Itza.
