Stap achter de schermen van de echte Nieuw-Zeelandse landbouw tijdens een 6 uur durende begeleide tour van Christchurch naar het spectaculaire Glenafric, een echt werkende schapenboerderij die drie generaties van de familie Hoban ondersteunt, met uitzicht op de zuidelijke Stille Oceaan. Met exclusieve toegang krijg je schapen met de hand te eten, zie je boer James in actie terwijl hij hun schapen scheert, zie je bekwame herdershonden aan het werk en verken je het wolschuur- en vintage tractormuseum, gevolgd door een rondleiding door de boerderij via een unieke tractor- en trailerrit! Daarna kunt u ontspannen met een gastronomische picknicklunch met lokale producten op de uitkijkpost van Louises, gevolgd door een wijnproeverij in Waipara Valley en een vleugje bezienswaardigheden in de stad voordat u terugkeert naar uw accommodatie in Christchurch. Glenafric is een werkende boerderij, net ten noorden van Amberley. U heeft exclusieve toegang tot deze boerderij, elke dag iets anders zien. Zie schapen, lammeren, runderen, werkhonden en ontmoet de boer en familie.
Na uw boerderij tour rijden we naar Georges Road Winery. Dit zijn Kirk en het team. Leer alles over de Waipara regio en waarom het zo goed is voor het maken van wijn. Geniet van een wijnproeverij van de Roos, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir en Syrah. Verken dan de cadeauwinkel waar u een fles van uw favoriete wijn kunt kopen.
Onze lokale kiwigids ontmoet je bij het ophaalpunt en maakt een korte rondleiding door de botanische tuinen.

Great experience. A stop at a small family farm to get our lunches made by the farmer. Fed a cute little horse carrots at the farm. Headed out to the sheep farm. At the farm we saw a shearing demonstration, and was able to handle recently sheared wool. A great experience. Then we fed a bunch of sheep. After this went out to watch a sheep dog demonstration. The dogs wee truly amazing in corralling the herd. Then we stopped for our farm made box lunch. It was very good and fresh. On the way back a stop at a Kiwi Fruit farm. Very interesting to see how kiwi is grown. Over all a definite 5 start trip.

The sheep farm excursion was a wonderful experience. The farm overlooked spectacular views of the ocean and the talented sheepdog was able to keep the sheep in line perfectly. The lunch was delicious and the wine tasting was superb.

This was a great experience with the opportunity to see a sheep farm. The guide and driver was exceptional and made this a perfect tour
This was a fun and educational excursion for the family. We learned a lot about the different kinds of sheep and wool, and the whole family loved feeding the sheep. What was unexpected was that the Glenafric farm is located on the water and we experienced a beautiful cliff view overlooking MacKintosh beach before lunch. The lunch had so many tasty items, and it was definitely a highlight. The winery was a relaxing end to the day, and the kids got ice cream and a drink, and played corn hole while we did the tasting while sitting outdoors. Overall, this was a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the region.

Simon was a wonderful tour guide. Bus was comfortable and there was water and snacks available on the bus. Sheep farm was amazing. Lunch was a wonderful box of goodies. More than I could eat. Winery was beautiful and the wines were wonderful.
