Vertrek vanuit Christchurch, reis door dramatische rivierkloven en alpine passen voordat u van boord gaat in Arthur's Pass waar u uw Gids ontmoet en verder gaat met de moderne Mercedes Sprinter. ** Houd er rekening mee dat dit omgekeerd loopt van 1 oktober - 30 april ** Uw dag begint met het ophalen bij geselecteerde hotels, voordat u aankomt op Christchurch Train Station, waar u aan boord stapt van de TranzAlpine, consequent gerangschikt onder 's werelds mooiste treinreizen. Ga lekker zitten en zie de stad vervagen in de Canterbury Plains, voordat de riviervalleien versmallen en de zuidelijke Alpen om je heen sluiten. Er is een open-air kijkkoets die je moet bekijken!
Rol Arthur's Pass National Park binnen en ruil de trein in voor iets persoonlijkers. Uw Cheeky Kiwi Gids ontmoet u hier met een moderne Mercedes Sprinter en de lokale kennis die daarbij past.
Ook bekend als Deaths Corner en één blik verklaart waarom. Het Otira-viaduct strekt zich 440 meter uit over een dramatische alpenkloof en zonder dat zou Arthur's Pass over de weg gewoon niet bestaan. Het is een technisch hoogstandje dat zich afspeelt in een nationaal park, en het uitzicht in elke richting is adembenemend. Hou je ogen open, de Kea, Nieuw-Zeelands beruchte alpenpapegaai, houdt van publiek.
Terug naar het dorp voor je vrije uurtje. Als je er de benen voor hebt, is de wandeling naar de Devils Punchbowl waterval de keuze, een laag-tot-matig pad door inheemse bush dat eindigt bij een 131 - meter waterval die in de valleibodem crasht. Liever rustig aan doen? Het dorpscafé doet een fatsoenlijke koffie en de lokale winkels zijn een wandeling waard.
Verspreid over een open heuvel boven State Highway 73, zijn de kalkstenen keien van Castle Hill een van de rustigste spectaculaire plekken van Nieuw-Zeeland. Deze locatie is geologisch gezien oud, filmisch beroemd en verdubbelde als Narnia in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe en kwam voor in The Lord of the Rings. Wandel tussen de formaties, zie de klimmers en boulderaars hun ding doen en maak de foto's waarvan je niet wist dat je ze nodig had. Zelfstandig en volledig in uw eigen tempo.
Terug naar Christchurch met drop-off bij uw accommodatie. Geniet van de architectuur, cultuur en omliggende landschappen van de stad.

Als uw locatie er niet bij staat, kies dan uw dichtstbijzijnde beschikbare optie en ontmoet ons daar. *Om een vlotte start te garanderen, gelieve buiten 5 minuten voor uw specifieke ophaaltijd klaar te staan en te wachten. *Pick-up locaties zijn zorgvuldig gepland voor elke tour en kan variëren per dag. Als uw ophaallocatie verandert, verzoeken wij u dit vooraf aan ons door te geven. *Onze gidsen maken meerdere stops en kunnen binnen een tijdsbestek van 10 minuten aankomen. We kunnen niet wachten op late gasten.

Amazing views on Tranzalpine leading up to Arthur's Pass. Tour guide took us to multiple points of interest and was full of knowledge. We did the tour with our son who is severely autistic and he fully enjoyed the entire experience. We recommend doing the one that includes lunch, just makes the day easier.
This tour was quintessentially New Zealand to me. Lovely day, beautiful scenery, collegial travel companions, and a flexible tour guide with a lyrical, knowledgeable commentary on the area. And the Castle Hill rocks - just outstanding! A wonderful adventure.

We were collected from our hotel easily and on time. Our group size was 8 - perfect. The train experience was excellent, with the plenty of room on the viewing platforms for taking photos. It was a miserable day, with it being cold and wet at Arthurs Pass but the group remained flexible with the itinerary and many laughs were had. Lunch was plentiful - one did not go hungry. Paul, our driver was brilliant with providing information along our tour and finishing the day with donuts in Springfield. We are thinking of doing this tour again on our next visit and hope for some snow on the mountain tops = makes for great photography.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The TranzAlpine train journey was stunning from start to finish, and the small group return tour made the whole day very relaxed and enjoyable. Arthur’s Pass was beautiful, with enough time to walk around, take photos and enjoy the village. Castle Hill was also a special stop and definitely worth seeing. We boarded the train in Christchurch and headed off to Arthur's Pass. Unfortunately, due to the train breaking down we didn't get to our intended destination. We rejoined our tour at Springfield and traveled to Castle Hill. The walk at Castle Hill was great with fabulous views. We then traveled back to Christchurch. Will definitely book the tour again on our next trip to Christchurch.
