Had a great trip. Definitely not a “fun” tour given the nature of the subject. So informational and moving. Our guide, Lucas, was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. Also, the front office was very prompt to respond to emails. Long day but well worth it.
Great educational and informative tour. Guide shares much history that you would not otherwise learn.
My wife and I along with 2 close friends booked a private 1-day tour with Overlord Tour Company to see the D-Day invasion sites, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. Standing on the historic beaches and learning about the immense chaos and bravery of that day was deeply moving. Loic was our guide who brought history to life with incredible depth, respect, and storytelling. If you want a profound, well-organized, and unforgettable look into Normandy’s history, we all recommend Overlord!
Very well made tour with a local tour guide, with amazing knowledge for all of Normandie history. Gives unique real life stories at a human scale, balancing history, story, and flow. Very energetic and friendly guide.
This was hands down the best tour we’ve ever been on. Our guide Remi was knowledgeable, passionate, and it was evident that this particular time in history resonates with him and the French people. Not only did we visit the main theater of D Day, which is now a beautiful quiet beach, and the cemetery, but traveled to the smaller locations where important events happened that day. An unforgettable and immersive experience, which meant a lot to my family, as my own father landed there D Day Plus 1.
If you are planning a D-Day tour in Normandy, do yourself a massive favor and request Jack with Overlord Tours. He guided my family through an unforgettable day exploring the historic landing sites, and we cannot recommend him highly enough! From the very start, Jack was prompt, incredibly kind, and welcoming. Right away, we appreciated how collaborative he was; he walked us through our options and asked for our input on several customizable stops to ensure the day was tailored perfectly to our family’s interests. Beyond his professionalism, Jack is just a wonderful person to talk to. He made the travel time between stops feel like a warm, engaging conversation with a friend. His historical expertise is truly second to none. Jack didn't just recite dates and figures; he brought the history of D-Day to life with thorough, deeply engaging overviews at every single stop. He was an exceptional guide at Utah and Omaha beaches, providing profound context to the courage and sacrifice that took place there. He also guided us through several of the local churches in the Normandy area that played critical roles in D-Day, which was an incredibly moving and unique part of the experience. We walked away having learned so much, and the entire day felt seamless, respectful, and deeply impactful. Our day in Normandy with Jack was a highlight of our trip. Thank you, Jack, for sharing your passion and making our family’s visit so incredibly special!
We booked this tour because we love the history of WW2 and it was wonderful. Guillaume was our tour guide and he was amazing. So knowledgeable and he even inserted some personal stories of his own. The meeting point is centrally located in Bayeux center. We first went to Omaha Beach, then stopped at the American Cemetery. Go into the chapel there and look up! We visited Utah Beach, Point du Hoc and were allowed to roam for an hour in St. Marie Eglise were we got lunch. Our guide told us such interesting stories about what happened right where we were standing in front of the church. We also visited Carentan where we went into a church where two American medics brought both American and German soldiers there to help. Guillaume was amazing. The van was very comfortable and there were about 10 other people on the tour. Highly Recommend!!!!
I can highly recommend this tour. The level of information we received exceeded all expectations. William has a talent of delivering a good story in small parts which all fall in place in the end.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Overlord - it was worth every penny. Our guide Louis B was so informative, personable and animated. I really appreciated his timing the stops of our tour based on when each location was busiest and in relation to the weather. His maps, pictures and story-telling ability were so helpful to understand many aspects of D-Day. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch together indoors since the wind was unusually strong and it was fun to learn about other facets of French (esp Normandy) life, food and drink. I’m also coming away with a list of movies and series to watch (and which ones/parts are not accurate). It was a full day that helped us understand the incredible coordination, planning, bravery and sacrifice of the Allies and civilians in this part of WWII and certainly made me want to learn more.
Coming from a girl that went because her boyfriend is a history buff, this was an awesome tour! I didn’t expect to learn so much but our guide, Loïc, was super knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. And even though it’s a very sad part of history, the tour was really enjoyable to be able to see and learn all we did. I really enjoyed it and would recommend this to everyone. Boyfriend adds: This full day tour is the only one that allows access to Brecourt Manor Battlfield. I enjoyed the fact that this tour has more unique sites that are less busy with tourists and still have a ton of history. Thanks Loïc!
