Chilkoot Lake Kayaing - Vertrek vanuit Haines.

Just got done with this tour and it was so relaxing and beautiful. Joe and Emma were great tour guides and made sure that everyone had a great experience. It was also great that it was a small group which made it more intimate and they knew so much about the town, foliage, and animals.

We had a great experience with SEAK Expeditions in June. The guides were professional and gave us a great Alaska experience. We had great views of the lake and saw bald eagles as well as recent beaver activity. The great weather helped.

In late Spring we retuned to Haines by ship and seized the chance to go kayaking on Chilkoot Lake with SEAK Excursions. Our group chatted with the friendly and knowledgeable guides during a scenic 20 minute van ride to the Lake. We hit the jackpot for weather, as in several visits to Haines, we had never been able to see so many of the snow-capped mountains that surround this small town. Our guides were always ready to answer any questions and had much fascinating local info and history to share, as well as noting key points for those who had not kayaked before. We all felt comfortable and confident as we donned our gear and pushed away from the shore. From there on we were treated to steep snowy peaks that ring the lake, and a shore punctuated by low greenery and the occasional waterfall. Despite a stiff wind, the paddling was easy for everyone, and it was still quiet enough to learn more about our surroundings from the accompanying guides. The paddle ended too soon, but there was still more to learn as we were treated to a 'town tour' on the way back. Former strangers, now friends, all conversed and asked questions of our ever-gracious and informative guides, who made all the difference on this wonderful experience! This was the highlight of our Alaskan visit and we would whole-heartedly recommend this kayak group to anyone of any level of expertise! Thank you SEAK Expeditions!

We had a wonderful day! Our guides were so knowledgeable about the area as well as kayaking. We saw a few eagles, salmon and even a bear on our way out.

This was such a wonderful experience. Joe, Beth and Chad were such amazing guides sharing immense knowledge with us. They were all friendly and welcoming! After our kayak adventure we spotted a young brown bear searching for salmon in the river. Beth was awesome, allowing us the opportunity to view and photograph him. It was the icing on the cake for a really enjoyable outing.

What a beautiful rainy day we had kayaking on Chilkoot Lake! Don’t let the rain scare you away. It was incredibly peaceful and enjoyable. Joe from SEAK was fantastic He went above and beyond to make sure our day was fantastic. I would highly recommend this activity and this company.

This was so peaceful. The lake and surrounding area was beautiful. We spent a lot of time just listening to the waterfalls and breathing the clean air. The kayaking was go at your own pace and with the gear provided, we stayed completely dry. Loved the tour of the town at the end and learning more about Haines. Joe was a fantastic guide. Definitely recommend!

Me & my wife’s first time in Alaska! Haines was beautiful and the kayaking tour was a great time! The guides were knowledgeable and extroverts. They made the tour smooth and fun. We saw some breath taking views in between the mountains on a beautiful calm lake. Great excursion and very relaxing being out in nature!
