Een geweldige ervaring! U wordt ondergedompeld in de oude Mexicaanse wereld van de Maya's en Azteken, voor wie chocolade de drank van de goden was en die cacaobonen gebruikten als betaalmiddel. Chocoladeliefhebbers ontdekken hier hoe chocoladetruffels, chocolaatjes, holle figuren en chocoladerepen worden gemaakt.

In Brugge bevindt zich het museum Choco-Story, gehuisvest in een oud gebouw uit de 15e eeuw. Het museum beslaat 4 verdiepingen en vertelt de geschiedenis van cacao en chocolade. Meer dan 1.000 oude voorwerpen en 80 informatieborden leggen het verhaal uit van hoe chocolade evolueerde van zijn oorsprong als een pittig Maya-drankje tot het heerlijke snoepje waar we vandaag allemaal van houden. Het kinderbezoek is speciaal ingericht met lage informatieborden en vitrines. Het bezoek wordt afgesloten met een demonstratie van het maken van Belgische chocoladesnoepjes die geproefd kunnen worden.

Very well-made museum. The audio guide is very comprehensive and the visit is interesting.
We’re delighted you and your family enjoyed the interactive side of our museum. The live chocolate-making demonstrations are always a highlight, and it’s wonderful to hear they added value to your visit. Thanks to the many stairs (elevator available) a separate and very nice experience. Interesting facts, fun decor and clear information made the visit a memorable memory. Especially the smooth and sparkling bilingual demonstration (Spanish and Dutch) was a real pleasure. Bravo!
We had a very nice visit to the chocolate museum. The exhibition is informative, varied, and really fun. We especially recommend the interactive games, where you can collect points and even become the daily winner – this adds extra motivation and entertainment. The audio guide in German was clear, well-structured, and provided many interesting background details. A real highlight for us was the chocolate tasting, especially the Ambar variety, which we particularly enjoyed. We also found the praline presentation with live explanation and subsequent tasting very successful. A small point of criticism: The shop seemed a bit too small to us, and the selection could be larger. There is certainly still potential for improvement. Overall, we can definitely recommend the visit – a great experience for all chocolate lovers and the curious.
This is definitely for younger kids. Not great for adults. The best part was the very end where they did a very short demonstration. And tasting.

We weren’t sure what to expect so we had no expectations. This beginning of the tour was a bit bland and somewhat dull and basic but stick with it - it gets better as it goes on. Chocolate does have a wild history. It was cool to get the in person demonstration as well. Overall it was a nice display and attraction.

Interesting facts but a lot of audio to listen to. too many cups and jugs. Very interesting to learn about the process of making chocolate and why chocolate is expensive
