Tijdens deze dagtour verkent u twee iconische topattracties in Beijing: de Chinese Muur, een van de zeven wereldwonderen, en het Zomerpaleis, het keizerlijke zomerverblijf voor oude keizers. Staand op de top van de Grote Muur, zult u versteld staan van het prachtige panoramische uitzicht. Ondertussen biedt het Zomerpaleis een compleet eigen ervaring met zijn prachtige klassieke landschappen. Het arrangement omvat alle toegangskaarten, stoeltjesliftkosten, lunch, professionele tour Gids service en retour voertuig transfers. Alles is volledig inclusief.

In de ochtend haalt uw professioneel Engels sprekende Gids en chauffeur met een voertuig met airconditioning u op. U kunt kiezen voor een ophaalservice in de lobby van uw hotel, of ervoor kiezen om ons te ontmoeten op ons aangewezen ontmoetingspunt. We gaan eerst naar Mutianyu Great Wall, op 1,5 uur rijden. Mutianyu is een rustiger, meer afgelegen deel van de Grote Muur rond Peking met veel minder drukte. Dit segment is beroemd om zijn prachtige natuur: weelderige bossen en groene graslanden die met elk seizoen van kleur veranderen. De muur slingert meer dan 1000 meter langs bergkammen, voordat hij een scherpe bocht maakt en steil afdaalt van de heuvel. Je hebt ongeveer twee uur vrije tijd om de Grote Muur te verkennen. De wandeling bergop duurt ongeveer 30 minuten te voet. Als alternatief kunt u de stoeltjeslift naar boven nemen; een spannende glijbaan van de berg is ook beschikbaar op de terugweg.
Na een heerlijke lunch in een lokaal restaurant gaan we verder naar het Summer Palace, dat iets meer dan een uur rijden van Mutianyu Great Wall ligt. Het Zomerpaleis diende in de oudheid als keizerlijke koninklijke tuin. Het beschikt over talloze elegante paviljoens, grote herenhuizen, heilige tempels, delicate bruggen, uitgestrekte meren en kronkelende overdekte gangen. De iconische Lange Gang, die zich uitstrekt langs het water, bezit het Guinness Wereldrecord als 's werelds langste beschilderde gang. U bezoekt ook bekende bezienswaardigheden, waaronder de Seventeen-Arch Bridge, Marble Boat, Kunming Lake en Longevity Hill. Zodra de sightseeing is afgerond, brengt onze chauffeur u terug naar uw hotel.

Pick-up was timely and with a comfortable car. 1,5-2hrs travel by from Beijing. The temperature and the crowd in an August visit makes the walking tour (expect some steep ascending sections of the walk) a little bit more of a challenge. But unforgettable scenery worth the effort - and feeds a sense of direct contact with a pluri-millennial culture. Our guide - Bruce - was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the history of China and of the Great Wall, and effective in his explanations. We greatly appreciated his dedication and professionalism. The “Jade Factory visit” revealed to be more a jewelry shopping experience. Fine but extremely expensive products. Buffet lunch at the “factory” just Ok.

We had a fabulous day with Wendy. We first went to the Great Wall of China where Wendy gave a great overview of the history. We took the chairlift up and explored the wall. Once we were down we had a lovely tea ceremony. After Wendy took us to Summer Palace which was beautiful and peaceful especially on the boat. Overall we had an amazing day with Wendy.

Wendy was a great tour guide. Went to both Great Wall and summer palace definitely worth doing both. Was basically a private tour when we went to the summer palace since majority of people just did Great Wall, meaning we could go at our own pace and she could show us great spots personalised for us.

It was an amazing experience visiting the Great Wall, especially riding the chairlift up and coming down on the toboggan it was definitely the highlight of the trip.
