Reis off-road in een 4WD-voertuig (Land Rover of Toyota Hilux) door de wilde landen van Tierra del Fuego tijdens deze 7-uur durende tour vanuit Ushuaia. Geniet van een prachtig uitzicht op het verborgen meer (Lago Escondido) en het meer van Fagnano - indrukwekkende natuurlijke bezienswaardigheden in het zuidelijke Andesgebergte. Het stevige 4WD off-road utility-voertuig neemt je mee door een prachtig Patagonisch landschap, waar je zult genieten van een barbecue-lunch aan het meer in combinatie met Malbec-wijn! Geniet van persoonlijke aandacht van je gids tijdens deze tour met kleine groepen, beperkt tot 12 personen. In de zomer is een kanotocht van 45 minuten inbegrepen op het meer van Fagnano.

In de ochtend halen wij u op bij uw hotel om onze excursie te starten.
We gaan de beroemde route 3 nemen die door een deel van de Cordillera Fueguina loopt, die ons toegang geeft tot de Paso Garibaldi. Vanaf hier zullen we Escondido en het Fagnano-meer zien.
We beginnen de afdaling en verlaten de conventionele route om de oude sporen van de houthakkers te volgen. De 4x4-trucks zullen ons helpen met deze expeditie, om plaatsen te bereiken waar toegang anders onmogelijk zou zijn. We zullen bossen doorkruisen, paden van modder, stenen volgen en verschillende uitdagingen op onze weg overwinnen. Uiteindelijk komen we aan bij het Fagnano-meer, dat ons zal verrassen met zijn grootte en het ongelooflijke landschap eromheen. Daar zullen we een stop maken bij dat meer waar we zullen genieten van een heerlijke lokale asado. Terwijl de gidsen de lunch bereiden, kunnen we een wandeling maken door het gebied om het bos en de bevers te verkennen die tegenwoordig deel uitmaken van het lokale landschap. Na de lunch gaan we verder met dit avontuur, maar deze keer gebruiken we een route om bij het Escondido-meer te komen.
Dit meer is kleiner dan het andere, maar zal ons toch verrassen met zijn unieke natuurlijke omgeving. Als we deze tour in de zomer kiezen, kunnen we kanoën op het Escondido-meer. Eerst hebben we een inleidend gesprek met onze gidsen, bereiden de kano's voor en ten slotte peddelen we 45 minuten rond het meer. We gaan op een andere manier genieten van het landschap van de omgeving. Maar als je het in de winter kiest, lunchen we in een winterstalling en terwijl het wordt voorbereid, kunnen we rondlopen of plezier hebben op de rodelbaan. Na de lunch bezoeken we het Tierra Mayor Winter Centre, waar we tijd hebben om de omgeving te verkennen en extra activiteiten te ondernemen zoals sneeuwscooters, husky-sleeën, skiën of schaatsen. Als u wilt, kunt u ook in de warme hosteria verblijven terwijl u uitkijkt over de ongelooflijke Nevado-vallei.
Na kanoën (in de zomer) of plezier hebben in het wintercentrum (in de winter), keren we terug naar het punt waar de busjes waren achtergelaten om terug te keren naar Ushuaia langs Nationale Route 3.

Christian our guide and driver picked us up in a Toyota 4 x 4. We joined a lovely family from Argentina. Climbing into a 4 x 4 is not easy but Christian showed me how to do it. He was an excellent guide taking us through a very tough off road route filled with giant potholes and deep mud holes. Our first stop for a coffee break was just before we went bouncing down the trail toward Lake Escondido. We stopped there to walk a bit and enjoy the views. Back into the 4 x 4 we went and through the mountain pass. We stopped a small restaurant and then walked to a shelter where Christian was starting a fire for our lunch. Once the fire was going we let it to burn down to coals and drove to Lake Fagnano. It is a huge lake, very long and very deep. this day there were white caps as it was very windy. Then back for a lunch prepared by Christian. He made everything from scratch. Nothing was prepared ahead he did everything there. he would not allow us to help with anything, including clean-up. It was a wonderful day! This should not be missed!
Guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, prompt on the hotel pickup, eager to answer questions. Scenery and lunch were fantastic. The 4 wheel was absolutely necessary on the backroad portion of the tour. It was well worth the money and the time.
Nice off-road tour into the interior of Tierra del Fuego! It was cool to drive next to and into the edge of the big lake. Lunch was also terrific.
We took the tour with the Brasileiros agency in Ushuaia. It was very good, we loved the entire route, the attention of the guide (driver). Ideal for those who like a quiet adventure. It was worth the trip.
Viator booked with the worst rated company in Ushuaia to provide our tour. The tour included canoeing which we did not book and were not prepared for. We booked 4x4 with lunch by the lake, that is not what we received. We didn’t receive lunch - no food, no water, no options to leave the tour. We were abandoned on private property for over an hour with no cell service. The tour operator told us he hated Americans and then gave us the symbol for cutting your neck as the other 4x4 tried to hit us twice. The driver jumped out of the moving truck to make a “joke”, we were finally offered lunch at 4:00pm at a dog sledding place that was full of animal cruelty and like they were cooking the dogs for lunch. We declined and asked to be taken back to town. When I contacted Viator to ask for refund the request was rejected because the tour operator said they completed the “tour”.
Hello, Thank you for your comment. We are sorry this tour did not meet your expectations to the fullest. Per our recording, the tour was offered as scheduled. The canoes were included on the tour but of course, no one should take them if they don't want to. We will also get in contact with the guides for their inappropriate behavior. Regarding the dogs, their safeguarding is a top priority for us and they are more than well taken care of. Nonetheless, we hope you enjoyed the great landscapes and attractions that Ushuaia has to offer. We will try and improve this tour experience in the future. Best regards
Tour was nice and our driver/ guide was great. I didn’t give it a five star because the car has an odd design. There is no way to see the road ahead. The view is blocked. All you can see is from the side windows.
Well organized. We were picked up from our hotel. Our driver/ guide was David. Professional with excellent english. Trip worth every penny. Definitely better than spending day and money on national park, train and etc. on the way back stopped at husky park winter resort and had outstanding steak. Couldn’t ask for more.
We were picked up in a grizzly Toyota, we're two adults and my son. We shared the excursion with another childless couple and Hernan, the driver. We were picked up on time by the cabin, the van spotless. We started the tour with a walk in Ushuaia where Hernan told us part of the history of the island. We toured stunning places in a 4x4 that got into the water. Everything perfect, we stopped for breakfast in a place with an impeccable view, on the shores of the lake, stopped for coffee with bills we were given. We traveled hidden lake and swamp, complicated roads very well taken by the driver. We had a good lunch, the food was delicious but nothing otherworldly. Recommended lamb casserole. An excellent excursion, a very knowledgeable driver (Hernán), well prepared to explain and remove our doubts, a great. We returned very happy after a spectacular day.
Wonderful walk! It starts smoothly but becomes exciting with time! The ideal would be 5 passengers in the car and not 6 as they put it! The appetizers and the barbecue at the end are delicious!!!
very fun, and entertaining, the guides give it an incredible wave, we went with a family with an 11 year old boy and we all passed it 10. super recommended, complying with the schedule and the most valuable thing was the group of riders that apart from the super professional handling, make you spend a joyful, exciting and safe trip. I particularly think they're crazy, but they catch that crazy and it's the nice thing about the trip. The beautiful landscapes.
