Il monumento "Arco di Charents" è stato creato dall'architetto Raphael Israelyan. Un giorno sulla strada per Garni si fermò in questo luogo e, notando che da lì si apre una vista pittoresca sul monte Ararat, decise di costruire un arco come "tempio" per Ararat. L'Arco è stato costruito nel 1957, in occasione del 60 ° anniversario del grande poeta armeno Yeghishe Charents. Si dice, che il poeta fosse anche appassionato di passeggiare per questo luogo. Re Trdat Il Primo ordinò la costruzione del tempio nel I secolo d.C. e lo dedicò al Dio del Sole.Dopo aver adottato il cristianesimo nel 301, il tempio pagano perse il suo significato e la fortezza di Garni divenne la residenza estiva dei re. Il monastero di Geghard è l'insuperabile capolavoro dell'architettura armena del XIII secolo. Alcune delle chiese del complesso sono magistralmente scavate in un'enorme roccia. Fin dall'inizio il complesso fu chiamato Ayrivank (monastero delle grotte), in seguito fu ribattezzato Geghard (lancia) poiché la lancia, usata dal soldato romano per pungere il fianco di Gesù Cristo, era stata custodita in questo monastero per molti secoli. Thank you so much for this wonderful tour! Our driver Alexander turned out to be not only an excellent driver, but also a true professional guide. He talked about every building, monument and landmark with such passion and love that the tour became a true journey into history. He seemed to know literally everything -- every detail, every interesting fact. I particularly want to mention his human attitude: incredibly friendly, soulful, very polite and tactful. He could sense the mood of the band perfectly, spoke easily, with a subtle sense of humour, was never obsessive and created a very warm atmosphere. We enjoyed this trip a lot. We took our first tour today, and it exceeded all our expectations. The van was spotless, comfortable, air-conditioned, and even had car seats ready for the children. Taron, our driver, was incredibly professional, friendly, and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip. Rose was an amazing guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and generous with everything she shared about Armenia. Together, they set the standard extremely high for what a great driver and tour guide should be. They also recommended a local restaurant where we had an incredible meal, which made the experience even more special. We are beyond happy with the entire tour and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Armenia!

Excellent experience! Beautiful places, nature plus old construction. Very beautiful and unique. Likely, not something would have experienced in other parts of Europe. Do it as a private tour if you can - much better, not rushed, and lots of information/conversation with the guide. Our guide was Mariam and driver Arman - both were top!
