We spent a very nice 4 hours with guide Carina, who is a safe and careful driver, as well as a knowledgeable tour guide. She knows Sintra very well! She was flexible to accommodate what we wanted to see. We elected not to go up the hill to the castle(s), but instead did a nice stroll through pretty Sintra village. Afterward, the views from Cabo de Roca were spectacular, and Cascais was worth seeing as well. Would highly recommend the this tour, and Carina!

My husband and I spent our last full day in Lisbon on a private tour with José from Lisbon on Wheels, and it ended up being the highlight of our entire trip. We booked the tour spontaneously and were lucky enough to have José as our guide. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel, he brought warmth, humor, and incredible hospitality. He has a natural charisma and storytelling ability that instantly made the day special. José took us to Sintra and the beautiful Palácio Nacional da Pena, as well as Praia Grande and Cabo da Roca. Along the way he also stopped at two wonderful antique fairs and a lively food market, and showed us some fantastic pastry/chocolate spots we never would have found on our own. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was José himself. He’s like a walking library of history and local stories, sharing everything with passion, humor, and so much personality. In a time where genuine charisma feels rare, he is the real thing, a man well spoken and well lived. He also knew exactly where to go for the best views and even chased the perfect light for my photos throughout the day. As a young couple visiting from Switzerland, we loved every minute and soaked up every story. Thank you, José, for such a beautiful and memorable day. We will definitely be coming back. Terrific 1/2 day tour with Corina. So much personality and enthusiasm for the tour. Kept us together and on track despite the crowds. We came away understanding the complexity of sintra. And terrific visit to the coast. Great driving and good ride.

We had an absolutely amazing day with Jose and Karina!!! They were both so personable and knowledgeable. We started out with a bit of fog, so they quickly adjusted our tour to be able to see the lower lying areas in the sunlight before heading up to Sintra at which point the fog has lifted. We cannot say enough about how great it was to spend the day with these incredible guides!!

Jose Ribeiro, a travel tour guide in Portugal provided an engaging and very informative experience, a personalized itinerary, expert knowledge of local history and culture, and a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. We were in town in Lisbon and did some city tours. I asked him to take us to the coast and advised things i already seen. Jose plan an exceptional trip and went way beyond with personal touches, flexibility and humor. He was recommended by a friend of my is the US. It was the best decision my husband and I made. Our driver was nice but a half day trip is too short to be able to truly enjoy and appreciate Sintra and Cascais. Also when we went the trains were not working because there was a strike and so there was more traffic than usual.

I would highly recommend this tour. It was great to get out of Lisbon and see a different part of Portugal. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Luis was a wonderful guide for my wife and I as we took a half day trip through Cascais, Cabo da Roca, and Sintra. We stopped at a few places to take some scenic photos, and going to the most western point of Europe was such a surreal experience! Sintra was a beautiful town with amazing architecture, and Luis was a great guide to help explain some of the history and context with everywhere we went. 10/10, would recommend Luis and this trip to anyone who is interested!!

We had an amazing time with Jose! He is very entertaining and has a wealth of knowledge. His joy for life was obvious and he was an absolute pleasure to have as our guide. Sintra was very beautiful and highly recommend this trip.

We did the half day private tour with 7 friends and Jose was our guide. The trip was absolutely amazing and he showed us some beautiful hidden gems of Sintra. We went to Quinta de Regaleira, shopping in downtown Sintra, and made multiple beach stops. Jose did an absolutely amazing job of explaining history to the group when we were in the car and also did a great job tailoring the trip for what our group wanted to see/do. I would recommend this highly for anyone who only has a half day to spend in Sintra!
