A superb walk where we taste many Greek specialties with the help of Mariza, a wonderful guide who takes her time with us.
Mariza took us to places that blend traditional know-how and the authenticity of Athens that we would not have discovered ourselves. It was friendly, informative, and above all, very good. We did not see the time pass. Mariza is passionate and engaging. We highly recommend her and wish her the best!
An excellent culinary walk that introduced us to Greek cuisine, from sweet to savory, especially the moussaka, which we loved.
An absolutely wonderful experience that I recommend without hesitation! I booked this food tour thinking mainly of discovering Greek cuisine... and I experienced much more than that. Thanks to Nikos, I learned a thousand and one things not only about local cuisine, Greek specialties and their history, but also about Athens itself: its ancient and modern history, its culture, its architecture, and local life. Nikos is passionate, knowledgeable, funny, and very generous in his explanations. You can feel that he deeply loves his city and enjoys showing it in an authentic way. The tour was perfectly balanced between tastings, cultural discoveries, and exchanges. And even after the visit, Nikos took the time to send us plenty of recommendations for restaurants, bars, and places to visit, which shows how much he goes beyond what is expected of a guide. Honestly, one of the best guides I have had while traveling. Thank you again, Nikos, for this memorable experience!
My wife and I spent three fantastic hours walking around the core of Athens and sampling all kinds of delicious foods. Simos was our guide, and he was friendly, knowledgable and gave us the background and time to enjoy everything we sampled. We highly recommend this tour and Simos.
Great visit, it really feels like walking around Athens with a friend. Nikos does not make you feel like tourists, it is rare! When it comes to eating, you will feast but do not eat breakfast!
We took a culinary walk in French with Nikos. What to say... it was exceptional. We learned a lot about Athenian life and the history of the city, and tasted delicious food. Nikos was attentive and excellent company. His French was excellent. We can only recommend it.
This is a must-do tour. Our guide, Simos, brilliantly blended history, culture and food through visits to several local restaurants. We sampled olive oils, sweet treats and traditional Greek dishes. The walk through the meat, fish and produce market was eye-opening! You won’t go away hungry!
a very nice discovery thanks to Nikos who shared with us the passion of his city, who took care of us and gave us excellent advice. We feasted on small delicious dishes!!
My wife met our guide Klelia conveniently at our hotel and started our tour. Klelia was very knowledgeable about the history and geography of Athens and was able to give us a great introduction to the area and some history that we really enjoyed learning about. We also learned about the local artists and some of the graffiti in the area. The first stop was a traditional Baklava shop where we tasted some Baklava….it was delicious. We then went to taste some traditional Greek coffee and learned about some of the antique equipment and techniques used to make it. We then had some more sweets…Loukamadas in a honey and nut sauce. We then had souvlaki in a pita with the works! The next stop was a bakery that had another sweet treat! The last stop was at a restaurant in the flea market that did not disappoint with a variety of local tastings! The tour was informative, fun and filling! We even had to take a doggy bag because we couldn’t finish all the food.
