Hands-down, the most informative and technological experience and tour. Even though it only the last 45 minutes, very informative and wonderful tasting.
The Scotch Whisky Experience right by Edinburgh Castle was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and a must for any whisky enthusiast or novices like us wanting to learn while visiting the city. Our guide Victoria made the whole experience truly special, sharing her knowledge with genuine passion and making the history of Scotch whisky both interesting and easy to understand. We opted for the Gold package, and it was absolutely worth the extra cost for the additional tasting opportunities alone. Each tasting was well paced and thoughtfully explained, giving us a real appreciation for the different regions and flavors of Scotch. Victoria’s expertise added so much to the experience, turning what could have been a simple tasting into an engaging and memorable journey. The setting itself, just steps from Edinburgh Castle, added to the charm of the whole afternoon. It was informative, enjoyable, and a wonderful introduction to the world of Scotch whisky. I’d highly recommend the Gold package to anyone wanting to get the most out of their visit.
My friend and I (who wasn't a whisky drinker) had a fantastic time. It was much more immersive than I thought it would be, and Ben was a brilliant guide. My friend enjoyed whisky for the first time there, and being able to keep our glasses was a lovely touch. I will highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Edinburgh.

This was so awesome if you are into the history, science, and process of making Scotch Whiskey. The tour is immersive and in depth without being too much to follow and the whiskey itself is really great! You do only get to sample one whiskey as part of the ticket, so if what you’re looking for is multiple tastings and samples, this may not be the tour for you. But I highly recommend for anyone really interested in the background and history aspects.
Fun to do, nice way of showing everything and James was a great guide. But I still don’t like wiskey lol
Excellent presentation by Archie. The samples of scotch were lovely. We followed up the tour with several more shots in Amber. I fell up the stairs on the way out and threw up on the street. All in all I'd say it was a great success. I would definitely recommend this tour to all the other alcohol enthusiasts out there. Enjoy!!
We had a blast on this tour. Having never tried scotch before, we took the beginners tour and learned a lot. The visuals were very informative and explained the whole process as well as the different regions. We were the last tour of the day so the bar was closed when we finished our free sample and couldn’t get another.
We did the Gold Tour, which offers a taste of whisky from each of the 5 scotch-producing regions of Scotland. The beginning of the tour takes you through the scotch-making process in an immersive, visual experience. I enjoyed it, but my wife was a bit bored. The main attraction is the Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection, and the guided tasting. The guided tasting converted my wife (not an avid scotch drinker) to a scotch appreciator! I (who dabble in scotch whisky) learned a lot from the tour, including about the 5 scotch-producing regions of Scotland and about the blending process.
We thought this was going to be a tour that included where they keep the whisky but instead it was more of a light show and videos about how they do things there. The staff were friendly.
