Il tour inizia con una degustazione di pasta fresca fatta a mano, come le tagliatelle al ragù alla bolognese, rifinite con parmigiano di produzione locale. La ricetta tradizionale prevede che la carne sia fritta, poi servita in brodo di carne. Infine, viene brevemente cotto in forno e servito ricoperto di formaggio fuso e prosciutto.
Per dessert proveremo il miglior gelato artigianale italiano a Bologna dai sapori deliziosi o in alternativa la Torta degli Addobbi: un dolce di riso dalle origini antichissime; veniva preparato a Bologna, già intorno al 1400, in occasione del Corpus Domini, fine maggio; un tempo in cui balconi e finestre venivano addobbati a festa con drappi colorati e questa torta tagliata a forma di diamante veniva offerta a parenti e amici!
Nessun pasto Italiano sarebbe davvero soddisfacente senza un vero finale. Eugenio was a very informative and enthusiastic guide to the city of Bologna and its central place in the food culture of Italy. His insights were exciting and his rapport with local shop owners was very cool to see. The evening tour also made it very pleasant to avoid the summer heat of the day. 10 out of 10, would recommend!

Ares was a fantastic guide. We had delicious local food at each stop. Ares shared interesting facts and showed us special hidden locations as we walked between restaurants. The small group made it easy to converse with everyone. My two young children enjoyed the food and had a great time as well. I highly recommend the tour. It was worth every penny!
It was really a super fun way to discover Bologna and try national food
We planned a two night one day stop over in Bologna, driving from the Dolomites to Siena. Since Bologna is the culinary heart of Italy, we thought a foodie tour was in order & this particular tour did not disappoint. Our guide, Valentina G. was exceptional. Her warm, friendly personality enabled her to connect with everyone in our 10 person group. We were an English speaking group & English was one of four languages Valentina spoke fluently. She shared the perfect mix of local food-related culture, history & traditions. During what turned out to be nearly a 4 hour tour, she took us to restaurants aomewhat off the beaten path where we dined on a delicious variety of dishes that are native to Bologna & learned about their origins. Most importantly (haha), we learned how to distinguish a great gelato from one that is not. Seriously, I would never have known some of the tips she gave, other than what my palate liked best. Also, my husband had certain dietary needs in which Valentina also did a fabulous job accommodating. Would highly recommend this tour & Valentina G. as your guide.
It has now been over a week since I took the tour with Valentina G and I can honestly say I am still in awe of the experience that I had. Simply put, Valentina unlocked my Italian heritage through food. I cannot recommend this tour enough to you dear reader.
What a great food tour from Eugenio! Not only do you learn about and eat delicious food, you also learn some interesting facts about the city and tips for navigating the food scene. For example, he gave suggestions on how to spot higher quality gelato vs tourist traps. Eugenio was a great teacher and brought great energy and passion to this tour. He also gave us a list of his favorite restaurants at the end so we could continue finding good eats. 100% recommend!
Eugenio was an amazing food tour guide! Not only does he deeply know his food, but he is also incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the local area and its surroundings. He went above and beyond, sharing so many extra recommendations and insights well beyond the tour itself. He is clearly a natural teacher and even came prepared with photo examples to bring the history to life. He took us to the best local spots to eat authentic tagliatelle and real gelato, and showed us hidden gems ranging from wine and cheese to incredible chocolate. I totally recommend booking a tour with him—he made our day unforgettable!
