This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! The small group made it feel personal, and our guide was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, funny, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. Every stop had delicious food, and we learned so much along the way. I would absolutely do this tour again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bologna!
Such a joy to be in the presence of such knowledge and experience. It was a great pace, the perfect size group (8 people), a LOT of food and an ocean of knowledge. And our guide clearly loves his job. He was having as much fun as we were!

My niece and I traveled to Italy, and we did a day trip to Bologna from Florence. This food tour was a perfect way to spend a day in the kitchen of Italy. The food was all so delicious, our guide was great. Highly recommend.
We weren’t too sure what to expect when a driver picked us up from the designated spot - a short walk from our hotel in Bologna. We met our guide, Riccardo at a small cafe outside town where he told us the plan for the day: visit Moscattini cheese farm, where we will see (and taste) Parmigiano-Reggiano; Acetaia dei Bago where traditional Balsamic Vinegar is made, and lastly, La Mancina winery where we tasted some amazing wines produced in the Emilia-Romagna region. At each spot, we met and spoke with the actual owners and producers of these small production products, whose families have been making these products for generations. We weren’t simply filed into a tasting room in a large production facility, we became guests in their “homes” where, through Riccardo, they were very gracious and proud to show their products and explain their process. What can be said about Riccardo? He was an absolutely amazing guide for us. Informative, funny, personable, and highly entertaining. I couldn’t imagine a better person to lead us through an incredible day. I can’t recommend Bologna Food tours enough for a unique and memorable day in the region. For our family, this was a highlight of our time in Italy. Paul (“Daddy”)
We had a delightful time on this wonderful late-afternoon food tour in Bologna with our exceptional guide, Val. The small group was the perfect size and made up of lovely people, which created a warm and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the experience. Val was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. She made the tour both informative and engaging as she guided us through a delicious culinary journey of Bologna’s famous specialties. We sampled several varieties of balsamic vinegar while learning about the production process, tasted five different types of cured meats, and enjoyed a selection of Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses. The tour also included three different pasta dishes and concluded with a delicious gelato for dessert. This was a fantastic evening filled with amazing food, local culture, and great company. Val was a wonderful guide, and we highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bologna!

Mattia was an engaging and knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the small group experience and going to places we never would have found in a city that has so many options for food. All the food we got to eat was great. Our favorite place was the osteria that is yes over 400 years old. Our favorite food was getting to taste DOP balsamic. Highly recommend!
