When you book with African Paradise Safaris, you do not actually travel with this company. They pick you up from the airport, drop you in a hotel room without air-conditioning, take your money, and the next morning drive you two blocks to join a safari jeep that doesn’t even belong to them. In this jeep are people who booked the same trip with completely different agencies. Naturally, the itinerary changes because every company has its own plan and the driver follows his. Confusion, missed some game drives, but not too bad. The biggest issue is their complete refusal to provide refunds, even when all other companies involved do. My friend and I booked a Kenya–Tanzania safari through African Paradise Safaris. During our Kenya portion, major political unrest erupted in Tanzania. More than 1,000 people were killed that weekend, borders temporarily closed, and the trip became unsafe and was canceled. Every other traveler in our jeep—who booked the exact same itinerary with different agencies—received a full refund. African Paradise Safaris refused to return anything. We lost USD 3,000 simply because we booked with them. And no travel insurance covers cancellations due to civil unrest. African Paradise Safaris focuses on collecting money, not on client satisfaction or delivering a trustworthy safari experience. For your own safety and peace of mind, avoid this company at all costs.

It was nice experience travelling with the support of APS Travel agency. They were very helpful in case we were stuck and they had given us the best options for hotels and places to visit in reasonable rates. In kenya everything went oke. In Tanzania they changed our schedule without even telling us. We plannend 2 nights in the serengeti and in stead we only got 1 and not only 24hours. When we texted our tour guide the day before he said everything would go as scheduled, but that wasnt the case. We were kind of worried all day because we didnt know what to do and it took something hours to get answers back. At the end we did get a refund from 100 dollars, but it kind of ruined our days there and we really wanted to see the serengeti. Probably never gonna go there again, so we are really dissapointed.

African Paradise Safaris and John organized a tailored 12 day budget Safari in Kenya and Tanzania for us. Communication and payment upfront was seamless and professional. The tour itself was an unforgettable experience. We were a small group of 3 for most of Kenya, had 2 days of private Safari for the rest of Kenya, a transfer via public transport to Tanzania and joined a larger group there. The tours themselves were conducted by other Safari companies (Big Time Safari in Kenya, Wakanda Tours in Tanzania) which both were great and mostly exceeded our expectations for our budget. While in hindsight we would consider 12 days of Safari rather on the long end for ‚newbies‘, we’ve enjoyed every single day of it and can recommend African Paradise Safaris and John without a doubt!
