Decided to take Ronnie's Wicker Park tour after enjoying his Old Town Tour and savoring his book "Doorways of Chicago". The Wicker Park tour was informative and eye catching. Ronnie was knowledgable and entertaining as always. It was great to drill deeper into Wicker Park history and to have Ronnie's detailed iPhone guide to refer to during and after the tour. Delighted in lunch at Doves Luncheonette after the tour.
We came across Ronnie’s Instagram and decided to book his Wicker Park walking tour for the very next day on a whim. It ended up being one of the best spontaneous decisions we’ve made. We walk these streets almost every day, but Ronnie gave us an entirely new perspective. It was amazing to learn the history behind the neighborhood and discover all of the unique architectural details we had unknowingly walked past countless times. The tour made us slow down, stop, look up, and appreciate the smaller details that are so easy to overlook. Ronnie is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about Wicker Park and its history. If you live in the neighborhood or are just visiting, I highly recommend taking this tour. You’ll leave with a much deeper appreciation for one of Chicago’s most interesting neighborhoods.
This won’t be by last tour by Ronnie, he is personable, informative and friendly. He takes you on a peaceful tour, while giving you architectural fun facts. I can’t wait to book a different tour through him.
Chicago has always been my city dream because of architecture and in my research I found Ronnie’s tours and I didn’t disappoint. He has very authorship tours and has a very deep knowledge of everything that shows us along the tour. In addition to being a very fun person you will love being around!
Ronnie's tour was great, and I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in late 19th century Chicago architecture, whether you're a visitor to Chicago or you live here. He is very knowledgeable, and provided a lot of details about the time period and the architectural details, but he was never boring. We saw a lot of great houses but it wasn't an overwhelming number so we were able to have time to observe each place in detail before moving on. I also liked that the group was fairly small: I think there were fewer than 10 of us, which made it easy to move from house to house and hear Ronnie talk. Because of all of these factors I found the price of the tour to be extremely reasonable. My friend and I enjoyed it so much that we also took his Fine Arts Building tour a couple of days ago, also highly recommended. We are absolutely planning to take more of his tours once they begin again this spring. Since this is Chicago, the route is flat so it isn't difficult to walk. I'd also imagine that it would be fine for anyone who uses a wheelchair as well. Teens who have an interest in the subject will be fine, I'm not sure if younger kids would like it, though.
Very knowledgeable and engaging, definitely worth the trip! I live nearby and never noticed a lot of the houses he talked about
Great tour, I’d highly recommend it! Wicker Park is such a lovely area, and to learn its history and walk down the beautiful streets was a pleasure. Ronnie teaches you about the history and architecture and gives you fun facts youbwntbkearn elsewhere.
I enjoyed the history and architecture facts on the Historic Homes & Cottage Of Wicker Park Walking Tour. I would go on another historic tour with Ronnie.
I learned architectural styles and how to identify them from Mr. Frey. Mostly adjoining-city attendees, and I wanted to hear their views. ✅Very productive conversations developed among the group today. When the guide was asked deeper questions, he knew the answers and made it both engaging and interesting. I drove in from Detroit. I'll DEFINITELY return, and will bring a friend. Booking your next adventure is right near you Chicagoans! 🙌
