Even though it was a very hot day we sat up top to get the best views. The tour guide was great! Very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.
The tour guide, Dave, was incredible- extremely knowledgeable on the history of Chicago as well as the architecture. The views of the buildings from the river were incredible. Even though the heat index was close to 100, the boats offer air conditioning and cold drinks on the lower level. Would definitely recommend First Lady and their amazing crew and docents!
I learned so much! Terry kept our attention the whole time even in 90+ degree weather. He had the perfect mix of detail with general explanations. I've been to Chicago many times before, but I feel like I have a new lens to see it through!
We had a very enjoyable experience on The First Lady architecture cruise. The volunteer tour guide was excellent and had such a smooth, pleasant voice—it was easy to listen to him throughout the tour, and we later learned he was a previous radio host, which definitely showed in his delivery. The ride itself was smooth and safe, and we really appreciated the relaxing pace of the cruise while taking in all the beautiful buildings along the river. My only comment is that there was another group sitting behind us who kept talking during the tour. Although an announcement was made at the start asking guests to keep conversations to the downstairs area, I think a reminder may have been helpful, especially during the guide’s water breaks, as it became difficult to hear some of the interesting facts being shared. We also weren’t able to move because there weren’t enough empty seats on the top deck. Even so, I would still recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the fascinating architecture of the city and enjoying a lovely 1.5-hour ride on the river.
Excellent boat ride and tour. Kept my daughter and I interested for the ninety minutes. Very professional with knowledgeable guide.
This was a super interesting and entertaining experience. Our docent Phil was just amazing in his depth of architectural, engineering and historical knowledge of Chicago’s skyline. All the while he kept us engaged and laughing. My father was an architect and would have loved this tour. I’ll never look at buildings the same way again.
A great way to see the city and learn about all the different styles of buildings. Very informative docent. The boat had AC inside which was great as it was in the low 90s plus it had a nice bar! Relax and see the city on a boat!
