Questo è un tour divertente e rilassante del mercato di Otavalo. Farai soste in ottimi siti per buongustai, ammirerai un bellissimo lago, visiterai la meridiana di Quitsato, berrai un'ottima tazza di caffè ecuadoriano, assaporerai dei gustosi bizcochos e formaggio a pasta filata, avrai la migliore fetta di torta in Ecuador, goditi il pranzo in un gourmet panino e hamburger fermati a Cotacachi (città della pelle) e fai shopping fino allo sfinimento nel famoso mercato indigeno di Otavalo. Si tratta di divertirsi, mangiare ottimo cibo e godersi la vita come un locale in Ecuador.

Itinerario
Una delle nostre prime tappe del tour è l'incantevole città di Cayambe. Potrai guidare dal centro città unico e dalle piazze mentre ti dirigi verso la migliore fabbrica di Bizcocho (biscotti) e String Cheese in Ecuador. I bizcochos sono preparati freschi e da zero ogni giorno. Puoi vederli realizzati e messi nei forni tradizionali. Questi bizcochos sono molto gustosi e uniti al formaggio a pasta filata costituiscono uno spuntino mattutino delizioso. Puoi anche assaporare il dulce de leche (caramello) e bere un caffè veloce o una cioccolata calda. Questa sosta è la cura perfetta per la pigrizia mattutina.
Una volta arrivati a Otavalo ci dirigeremo verso la rinomata Plaza de Los Ponchos. Gli indigeni Otavalo sono famosi per la tessitura di tessuti, solitamente di lana, che vengono venduti al famoso mercato. Il sabato vede il mercato espandersi in tutta la città, ma ogni altro giorno troverai venditori e bancarelle al Mercado de Los Ponchos. I negozi vendono tessuti come coperte fatte a mano, tovaglie, artigianato, dipinti e molto altro. Adoro il mercato di Otavalo, puoi sempre trovare qualcosa di interessante o eccentrico da portare a casa come souvenir o per decorare la tua casa. È sempre divertente contrattare con i venditori e ascoltare le loro storie.
Ci fermeremo al Lago (Lago) San Pablo per un po' di tempo di riflessione in mezzo ai bellissimi e tranquilli dintorni. C'è la possibilità di trovare kayak ancestrali usati per le gare nel lago dalla gente del posto. Ho avuto la possibilità di provare questi kayak ancestrali ed è un'esperienza strana ma meravigliosa. Se lo programmiamo in anticipo, ci sono piccole barche che ti portano intorno al lago, è un'esperienza fantastica.
Cotacachi è una graziosa cittadina andina in mezzo alle montagne. Il paese è bellissimo, molto ben tenuto, organizzato e pittoresco. Ti senti al sicuro e non affollato mentre cammini lungo la strada principale di Cotacachi dove troverai i migliori prodotti in pelle in Ecuador. Cotacachi è sempre stata famosa per i suoi prodotti in pelle come giacche, borse, portafogli, cinture, scarpe, ecc. Al giorno d'oggi, i nuovi stilisti locali hanno creato prodotti in pelle belli e unici che puoi acquistare. Molti dei miei clienti passati hanno cercato la giacca di pelle perfetta e l'hanno trovata a Cotacachi. Dopo alcune vetrine, pranzeremo in un ottimo panino e hamburger che utilizza pane artigianale, manzo locale e prepara le prelibatezze più fresche e deliziose della città. Se sei un amante del caffè come me, ci dirigeremo per un caffè dopo pranzo in una nuova caffetteria alla moda hipster a Cotacachi. Credimi, questo posto serve un caffè mediocre.

Sergio was very knowledgeable. We saw everything we wanted to. For the beginning of the drive conversation was minimal. Felt that we could have gotten more information and knowledge during that time. Best when we initiated conversations.

Andres did an amazing job showing our friend group parts of Quito on our way to Otavalo. He shared so much information about the area and the history of the highlands. We enjoyed the local Biscottis and coffee. The Museo Solar was something that should not be missed. The highlands tour is a must. Andres was a fantastic host and guide for our trip to this beautiful area.

We had a very good trip at the two markets and solar museum and the bisnocho place. Diego is a great guide, friendly and knowledgeable. I spent more time than scheduled in the Otavalo market which pushed the return time more than an hour late and there was traffic coming back. Diego waited patiently. While in the solar museum Diego showed us around the Agavae garden and gave us detailed explanation on each variety. It was a great experience. Learned a lot at solar museum. Bisnocho was delicious. Lunch was very tasty, bought what I like in the markets. Highly recommend this trip and highly recommend Diego.

Andreas was a great guide, chatty and full of knowledge. We had a full day out from 9am to 6pm. We visited the equator museum, biscuit and cheese making shop, Otavalo, Cayembe and Cotacachi. We learnt a lot about the local culture and Ecuador. Would definitely recommend this trip

Excellent tour of markets and a few bonus points. Galapagos Connoisseur LLC did a wonderful job. We were picked up on time at our Hotel. Our guide, Gean Pierre was most attentive to what we wanted to do on the day tour. We got everything accomplished and never felt rushed. The time in the car was filled with information on a wide range of subjects that came to mind. Our brief time in Quito was really enhanced by going to these markets.
