We arrived at 43 High St, under Raj’s umbrella, and with 5-minutes until the experience began I mentioned I planned to hit a WC, and immediately got the feeling the host was annoyed. Came back in 3-minutes and the host passive aggressively stated I held the group up and he had to entertain everyone even though it wasn’t the meeting time just yet. The host then quietly walked us almost 10-minutes on an unnecessary confusing route to a location that was not promoted in the tasting. Why not just input this address as the meeting point!? The entire group (much older than us) was confused why we walked so far without explanations. We arrived to the Parliament Arms. We were then escorted to a back room that was not prepared for us and it was filled with midget flies, which honestly bothered the entire group the whole time. The place was musty & hot, quiet and awkward (bc of the host) and it took the facility 15-minutes to prepare a table-another waste of time. We then asked the host if he’s done this before and his response, “This is my second time ever doing this (looking proud!)” and everyone felt disappointed. He then said he didn’t even drink! Our group expected an experienced person but we got a 1.0 Human ChatGPT in beta form that quickly navigated reciting what he just learned online right before this tasting to a semi forced YouTube video from his small phone in a loud eating area after two whisky’s and one moonshine consumed that none of us could hear. What a mess! Did I mention we were being attacked by midget flies! Our private back room for a tasting ended rather immediately since customers for the restaurant poured into our space and on top of us making any YouTube videos the host forced us to watch almost impossible. I’d give this experience a zero out of five stars. Not worth the cost. If you like whisky and want to learn go to YouTube instead. We reluctantly gave the host a tip because he looked like he wanted to cry by the end. SMH! :(
Fantastic experience. The guide Ignas was incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly, making the tasting both fun and informative. I learned a lot and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend.
An awesome experience…our guide was well versed on the subject matter and made this tour feel like a gathering with friends. Highly recommend!
Ignas was an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable! We had a great time!
Ignas was great! Third one whisky was amazing!
Hello my name is Javier Molina from Mexico, we had a tasting with Marco and it was excellent, we did not know anything about the subject and we were taking a guide to go I learn to appreciate the process, the history and everything clearly and cp as he comments on his slogan, without pretences, the testers of exquisite whiskies and as added value in Spanish, wonderful experience
This was a fun tour given by the wonderful guide and whisky aficionado, “Marco”. I was excited to learn about the history and process involved in the making of whisky, especially since I am a newbie to it and my libation of choice is typically gin or vodka. The tastings were just the right amount and all distinctly different. The only reason I gave 4 stars out of 5 was the time of the event was less than ideal. Being at a pub at 17:30 on a Friday when everyone else is there after work made for a loud and crowded venue. It was hard to hear Marco despite his best efforts to project his enthusiastic voice over the commotion inside. The tour would’ve been perfect if it was offered earlier in the afternoon.
It was a lovely experience for my dad’s birthday . Ignus is such a knowledgeable tour guide infact this is the second tour we have had with him .
Very good shared experience
Maria has been a great guide. He explained the whisky production process in a very pleasant way, he explained the different types and areas. We have enjoyed the experience and recommend it 100%
