Michael was our guide for the rio Celeste rainforest sloth watching tour with coffee and chocolate tasting. He is knowledgeable, kind, and patient. With his help we hiked the rainforest to the waterfall, found sloths, birds, and frogs and he taught us about coacoa and coffee beans. He helped each of us in the group spot everything and helped my kids (and all of us) see the wildlife through his telescope. Thank you for a great time!

Trip was excellent. Juan Carlos (JC) was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He know a lot about Costa Rica and is a really pleasant person to spend the day with. The water fall tour was quite refreshing. And seeing sloths was a real highlight. Would highly recommend this tour.

We hit the waterfall first, which turned out to be the right call — cold, clear, and completely refreshing before we’d worked up a sweat. From there into the rainforest, where it rained, because of course it did. Green season means you get wet; embrace it. Carlos spotted an eyelash viper coiled on a branch that not one of us would have seen on our own — bright, tiny, and perfectly camouflaged. That alone justified the private guide. Luis, our driver, went above and beyond in a way we’re still talking about. My wife had mentioned offhand how much she misses juplón (June plum) and mamón (guinep) — and he tracked both down for her during the day. Completely unprompted. That’s the kind of thing that turns a good tour into a memory. The food was excellent too — real Costa Rican cooking, not a tourist buffet. If you’re deciding between the group tour and the private option, take the private one. Ask for Carlos and Luis. Pura vida.

My boyfriend and I booked this tour to celebrate our 3-year anniversary while visiting Costa Rica. Since we were traveling on a limited budget, we wanted to choose one special excursion that would be worth it. After reading so many 5-star reviews, we decided this was the perfect choice, and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing day from start to finish. Our guide, Jose, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience fun and informative. He shared interesting facts about the wildlife and rainforest and was always happy to answer questions. A special thank you to our driver, Gustavo, who got us safely and on time to each destination. He also had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife—we saw sloths, monkeys, toucans, and several other animals that we would have easily missed without him. Although our itinerary changed and we visited a different water experience instead of the waterfall, we still had a fantastic time. The scenery was breathtaking, the wildlife sightings exceeded our expectations, the coffee tour was enjoyable/informative, and the entire day was well organized. This tour was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable wildlife and nature experience. Fantastic experience! We saw lots of animals up close in the rain forest, the lunch was amazing and the coffee and chocolate were great (where the coffee and cocoa beans are produced). Rudy was our guide and he was great! Full day experience and a long bus ride (pick up and drop off at our hotel) but well worth it.

Amazing! We went last month and I can’t remember our guides name but he was amazing. Very informed and answered any questions we had about the area. Honestly he was AMAZING. The sloth tour was amazing as well. Nothing crazy exotic but the guide for that pointed out all native animals and showed us how to take expert photos. Had a beautiful time and loved the food
