Rainbow Mountain in ATV Tour – Nessuna escursione necessaria

MC Peru Expeditions’ ATV to Rainbow Mountain is a must for anyone who is not a trekker or hiker. We originally booked a tour with another company that included a 40 minute horseback ride, but we decided to switch to the all ATV option with MC Peru just two days before. It turned out to be the best decision we made, especially with the 17,000 foot altitude. We were able to enjoy the incredible scenery without putting too much strain on our bodies. Communication and coordination with Jorge were excellent. He kept us updated and made sure everything was ready the day before the tour. Our hotel pickup was smooth, and Luis greeted us at 2AM with great energy and excitement. He made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire trip. The breakfast and lunch arrangements were also a big plus. The local buffet had a great selection, the place was very clean, and the staff was friendly. They even had a small shop where you could buy gloves, beanies, and scarves if you needed extra gear for the cold. The ATV ride itself made this experience unforgettable. Riding through the mountains with those breathtaking views was absolutely amazing. Luis’ enthusiasm and positive attitude made the day even more fun. He took the time to stop at different locations to capture great photos and videos for us. The alpaca photos were also a special memory that we will always remember. Overall, we are so glad we switched to the all ATV experience with MC Peru Expeditions. It was a fun, memorable, and much easier way to enjoy Rainbow Mountain without the physical challenge of trekking at high altitude. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience Rainbow Mountain without being a hiker or trekker!

I was really scared when I bought the tour, because many people told me that, even going on an ATV, it still took a long walk to get to the top of the Vinicunca. I contacted the company and they told me to be calm, that it was only a few minutes. And it was just like that! Everything was snowed when we went, the landscapes were beautiful and the walk was very exciting! When we stop the ATVs at the top we only need to walk about 5 minutes on a flat trail and we arrive! That walk was amazing! In addition to coffee and lunch included!

The early start time was rough but so worth it as we were the first ATVs up on the mountain. We were picked up at our hotel and were told it would be 2 hours until we reach breakfast so advised to catch up on sleep. At the breakfast we enjoyed yummy fruits and light breakfast to prepare ourselves for the adventure and to use the bathrooms. From there it was another hour and 15 minutes to the ATV site but we did give the 25 soles for the entrance of rainbow mountain on the ride there as well as sign some waivers. We were the first group on site and got to practice. It was a smooth and easy ride up and super grateful. Once at the top you had two options a flat path that is 5 minutes to one point or a ten minute very steep walk to see the best view. We did both and then enjoyed the ride back down.

Amazing experience and must try for everyone visiting Cusco/Machu Pichu. The guide was great all the way.

This is both a formal complaint and the review I am publishing about my experience. I booked your “Rainbow Mountain with ATVs (1 ATV for 2, SHARED)” activity for myself and my fiancée. Your listing was misleading from the outset. The wording gave the clear impression that this was a booking for two people to take part together, or at the very least that the position would be made clear before payment. It was not. The first problem arose when the taxi driver arrived at our hotel and could not take both of us because your agency had apparently only told them to collect one person. What made matters worse was that the vehicle sent was already crammed with people. Even if I had been travelling alone, I would have been expected to get into an overcrowded vehicle, which was plainly unsafe and completely unacceptable. At that stage, with the activity already happening and with no realistic option to make alternative plans after booking this trip weeks in advance from the UK to Peru, I was then contacted by your team and told: “Please just Add us with our guide the 65 USD missing”, with a payment link attached. I paid the extra USD 65 because otherwise the activity we had planned and looked forward to would effectively have been lost. The most serious issue is this: at no point before taking that additional payment did your company tell me that my fiancée would not be sharing an ATV with me and would not have an ATV to herself. Only after taking the extra payment did you then say: “as we expected you was single we dont expected big ATV… for you or your partner will be with Motorcycle with Driver”. That is completely unacceptable. You took extra money first and only afterwards revealed that the activity being delivered was materially different from what had been represented. That is misleading conduct, and the service provided was not the service sold. As a result, what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience for me and my fiancée was completely ruined. We were separated for most of the activity. I was isolated from my fiancée and the group for long periods, including having to wait around by myself for approximately 30 minutes at one point and about 40 minutes by myself again on the return. Instead of enjoying the excursion together, we were effectively split up and left with a stressful and disappointing experience. On top of that, the motorcycle arrangement did not feel safe at all, and the guide was not informative or helpful. Overall, the excursion was disorganised, misleadingly sold, poorly managed and nowhere near what we paid for. I am publishing this review regardless, because people should know exactly what happened. I also require a full refund of everything paid, including the original booking amount and the extra USD 65 demanded on the day. The service was misrepresented, the transport arrangements were unacceptable, extra payment was demanded under pressure, and the activity delivered was not what was advertised. Do not offer a partial refund. I expect a full refund

Super dad got us to snow and yet we could see the mountain, the super attentive guides from start to finish

This was an exciting experience that I highly recommend anyone to take. My husband and I were exhausted from previous hikes on this trip so riding ATVs up to rainbow mountain was so easy and fun. Our tour guides were so nice and informative as well. Overall, this was a great experience!

Very unprofessional, poorly organized, changed pick up time, guide not speaking English, had lunch 10:30 AM which made us arrive late to the mountain.!!

A once in a lifetime experience hiking up the Red Valley. Using the atv was really fun. Our guide, Alex was also helpful. We got soaked going down with snow and heavy rain.
