What can I say—this tour team was truly flawless. From communication to pickup, every part of the experience was smooth and perfectly coordinated. The PeruRail Vistadome Panoramic train was a spectacular beginning to our journey. The music, cultural performances, dance show, and fashion show created the perfect start and finish to the day. Lunch was both tasty and satisfying, though it was a bit surprising that a drink wasn’t included—but it was a minor detail in an otherwise exceptional experience. The real adventure, of course, was Machu Picchu, which was both breathtaking and magical. Our guide, Egger, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and I cannot thank him enough. Experiencing this wonder of the world in person was a dream come true. This tour truly fills an entire day, and every moment was everything I had ever hoped for. Thank you for making my dream a reality.
Great experience, both for the visit to Machu Picchu itself and the degree to which the tour group took care of all contingencies. Recommend for anyone trying to easily visit Machu Picchu from Cusco.
This tour was a LONG day, but getting to see one of the Wonders of the World was absolutely spectacular! Pickup was early (around 6:00 a.m.), and we were then transferred to a van with the rest of our group. The explanation of the day felt a bit rushed, but before long we were on our way. The drive to Ollantaytambo took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The road was quite bumpy, making the journey feel even longer. Once we arrived, the driver walked us to the train station but then left us to figure out boarding the train on our own. We managed just fine, but the process felt somewhat disjointed. One helpful tip: there are clean, free bathrooms at the train station, so don’t pay to use the ones in town! The train ride was beautiful, thanks to the large windows and scenic views. Snacks and drinks were provided, which was a nice touch. However, neither the van nor the train had charging ports or outlets, so be sure to bring a portable battery pack for the long day. When we arrived in Aguas Calientes, we met another representative from the tour company. The process was a little confusing because our group was split into two smaller groups, and we then had about two and a half hours of free time before our Machu Picchu tour. We grabbed lunch, but afterward found ourselves waiting around for the tour to begin. At our designated time, we met our guide, Miguel. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful as he guided us onto the bus to Machu Picchu. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes and includes many switchbacks, so anyone prone to motion sickness should consider taking medication beforehand. Once at Machu Picchu, we completed Circuit 2 and learned so much about the history and significance of the site. Miguel did an excellent job explaining everything and was also great about helping everyone take photos along the way. The guided tour lasted about three hours and gave us plenty of time to experience and appreciate Machu Picchu. Afterward, we had about 30 minutes back in Aguas Calientes before boarding the train on our own. The return train ride was comfortable and entertaining, featuring dancing and even a fashion show. We then met our driver and made the long journey back. Headphones and a sleep mask were very helpful for resting during the drive. Machu Picchu itself was fascinating, breathtaking, and truly unique. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will remember forever. While some of the transportation logistics felt a bit disorganized and required travelers to figure things out on their own, the opportunity to visit this incredible place made it all worthwhile. Overall, it was a very good experience.
Our tour guide for Machu Picchu was Miguel and he was exceptional. We appreciated all the information he provided. His camera skills are also top notch. Thank you Miguel for the unforgettable experience, so very nice to meet you. And hope to see you again!
Great visit to Machu Picchu with guide Miguel. He was very knowledgeable about the site and clearly explained each area we passed. He was very thoughtful and caring about our two senior ladies who struggled a bit with the hills. Highly recommended tour and especially Miguel our guide. 👍
train breakdown 3 hours late, the itinerary for the Machu Picchu visit was disappointing; we could not visit the inside of the village, the guide asked us for €50 in cash to be able to visit the center.
Our guide Miguel was great! He was full of knowledge and welcomed questions. It was a long day but we knew that going into it.
We had been in communication with the agency several days prior and received a well-detailed itinerary. On the day of the tour, we were accompanied at all times by very friendly staff, and we received very precise and clear instructions to avoid making any mistakes. All the people involved in the chain (transfers, guide, etc.) were very professional. But we would especially like to highlight our guide during the tour, Lizandro. Lizandro welcomed us as we got off the bus, helped us enter the venue, and was a wonderful guide throughout the tour of the complex. Additionally, he was an excellent photographer at every spot on the circuit. His knowledge about Machu Picchu, the Incas, and the area was clear and helped us better understand everything we were seeing. Moreover, his approach was very human, assisting us with all the situations that arose. I recommend the experience in general and the professionalism of Machupicchu Inka Trek.
This tour was organized very well from start to finish. If you don’t have WhatsApp, I would download that as they will communicate itinerary to you this way/call for pick up on it. We stayed in Ollantaytambo so we met with our guide at the train station. They had a packet with our train ticket (to and from Ollantaytambo) and our bus ticket (to and from aguas calientes) and our Machu Picchu entrance tickets. There were snacks and beverages served on the train. We did circuit 1. Our guide was Roilly. 10/10 Roilly had extensive knowledge of Incan history and Machu Picchu history. He was creative with photo and video taking, he ensured we had enough breaks while hiking up the circuit. When we returned to Aguas Calientes for dinner, he even recommended an amazing restaurant to try as well. He helped make the experience so wonderful and memorable! I highly recommend this tour package. It was stress free, very well organized and we have amazing videos and pictures that will last a lifetime.
Wonderful, magical, mystical Peru.
