Questo tour culturale di un'intera giornata inizia con una visita a un mercato indigeno locale a Saquilisilí o a una chiesa storica a Pujilí (giovedì / domenica). Il viaggio verso Laguna Quilotoa mostra una splendida vista sulle montagne andine, passando per l'antico canyon di Zumbahua e molte città indigene e terreni agricoli. Prima di arrivare a Quilotoa visiteremo un'incredibile galleria locale a Tigua, dove avremo un breve corso di pittura per conoscere le antiche tecniche di questa affascinante città. Il tour include un'escursione nella Laguna Quilotoa, uno scintillante lago color smeraldo all'interno del cratere del vulcano inattivo. Itinerario
Visiteremo la laguna di Quilotoa, una delle più belle lagune vulcaniche del pianeta. La caratteristica più significativa di questa laguna, con una profondità di 250 metri, sono le sue acque verde turchese. Il Quilotoa è il vulcano più occidentale delle Ande ecuadoriane, all'interno del suo cratere si è formata una caldera con un diametro di quasi 9 km. Scenderemo per apprezzare come i minerali hanno dato alla superficie una tonalità verdastra e bluastra quando viene colpita dalla luce solare. Al suo interno ci sono sorgenti che, dalla riva, possono essere viste come scie ribollenti che salgono in superficie.
Visiteremo la tradizionale città di Tigua, dove gli artisti sono sempre stati conosciuti per decorare maschere e tamburi per i loro festival con precisione e colori vivaci. Le loro mani di talento creano una stravaganza di colore e bellezza che va oltre ciò che ci si aspetterebbe da artisti autodidatti. Una volta qui, avrai una lezione di pittura con la tecnica ancestrale della pittura su una pelle di pecora. Prenderai la tua creazione come souvenir per ricordare questa esperienza non convenzionale.
Visiteremo il belvedere del Toachi Canyon, un grande incidente geografico sotto forma di un gigantesco burrone che attraversa in parte la riserva ed è visibile da un belvedere naturale nelle vicinanze di Sigchos. Questa caratteristica geografica ha un punto di vista per apprezzare il suo bellissimo paesaggio nel cui profondo interno scorre il fiume Toachi, il principale asse idrografico dell'Area.

Jeannin was an amazing guide! The drive to the highlands was gorgeous and Quilotoa Crater Lake was breathtaking! We recommend hiking boots and hiking sticks to assist with the footing, which can be challenging because it is steep. We would definitely do this trip with Jen again!
We had a great trip with Manuel, on July 3, 2023. Manuel was very knowledgeable about the area, about Quito, and Ecuador. We enjoyed getting to know him. The private tour gave us great flexibility, which was helpful because we were still acclimatizing to the altitude.

Excellent pre-trip organization, detailed information about what we should take, meeting points, I could see that if they were complied with biosecurity protocols every time we got on the transport such as: disinfection of shoes before entering, temperature taking, disinfection of clothes, alcohol for hands and that we all wear masks inside and outside the bus. Very good guide with a lot of knowledge of the environment, knows the route and the locality very well. I would definitely travel with Inspiring Ecuador again. I recommend it.
