Pompei è il sito archeologico più importante del mondo. Un'intera città completamente conservata così com'era nel 79 d.C., quando il Vesuvio la seppellì sotto uno spesso strato di cenere e lapilli. Pompei è diversa da tutti gli altri siti archeologici che si possono visitare in giro per il mondo. A Roma, in Grecia, in Egitto, in Centro America ed in altri luoghi meravigliosi del nostro pianeta ci sono testimonianze di antiche civiltà, tuttavia, solo a Pompei è possibile percorrere strade costruite oltre duemila anni fa ma ancora così ricche di tracce di vita. Si entra nelle case dove vivevano i suoi abitanti, nei templi dove pregavano, nei luoghi dove lavoravano e dove trascorrevano il loro tempo libero. Si possono vedere le tracce dei loro carri sull’antico manto stradale, le condotte dell'acqua corrente, i corpi “pietrificati” delle vittime dell'eruzione.

Itinerario
Visiteremo i più importanti edifici pubblici (teatri, templi, terme, ecc.) ed alcune tipiche botteghe romane come il thermopolium - antenato dei nostri fast food - e il pistrinum - l'antico forno romano. La città è famosa anche per la magnificenza delle sue dimore, i cui nomi sono conosciuti in tutto il mondo: la Casa del Menandro, la Casa del Fauno, la Casa dei Vettii, la Casa di Caecilius Iucundus, ecc. Entreremo all'interno di alcune di queste fantastiche case ed esploreremo Via dell'Abbondanza (la strada principale), il Foro (la piazza principale) e il famoso “quartiere a luci rosse” con i suoi dipinti erotici. Infine, una parte del tour sarà dedicata alle povere vittime dell'eruzione ed ai loro corpi pietrificati.

Francesco was what a tour guide should be. He was concise to the point and thorough when necessary. He balanced giving in-depth information with facts that you can’t just look up in history book. Francesco was very respectful of our time and maximized every minute. He was very personable and I would recommend him to anyone considering a tour of Pompeii.

We had a great experience in Pompeii with Francesco! He was fantastic and brought the city to life for us! We had been once before, but a smaller private group was far nicer than a large group! I wasn’t sure what to expect on this tour but we were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. The guide Antonella was so knowledgeable and helpful! The private tour was worth every penny! The other tours were great I’m sure but having your own guide to talk to made it an experience we will never forget. She delivered such personal service to us that she made us feel like royalty!

We had a wonderful tour with our kids (ages 10 and 12) with Marzia! She was an extremely nice person and brought us to the most beautiful places and explained so much that it made Pompeii come to life! I have been to Pompeii years ago, but without a gut and there is no comparison how much more I enjoyed this experience. Highly recommend.
