Quando la furia del Vesuvio seppellì Pompei ed Ercolano durante l'eruzione del 79 d.C., le due città erano in pieno splendore. Pompei era una caotica città portuale con un via vai di gente da ogni parte; Ercolano una sontuosa località estiva. Sono una guida turistica professionista con una passione devastante per l'Archeologia e la Storia. Quindi questo è sicuramente il mio tour! Lontani dalla folla, esploreremo Pompei ed Ercolano camminando sui passi dei loro antichi cittadini: un mercante senza scrupoli, un patrizio pigro, una potente matrona, uno schiavo o un invincibile gladiatore. Imparerai a conoscere la loro vita quotidiana ma anche gli intrighi politici e amorosi. Ammireremo splendidi affreschi e mosaici ed entreremo in antiche taverne, bagni e latrine "puzzolenti". Sarò anche il tuo autista. Durante la nostra pausa, ti accompagno dolcemente in una fattoria a conduzione familiare alle pendici del Vesuvio per un'incredibile esperienza culinaria a base di vino locale e cibo genuino. Pompei è una macchina del tempo reale. Lontani dalla folla e dai sentieri battuti faremo un passo indietro di 2000 anni per scoprire il più grande sito archeologico del mondo. Attraverseremo la città dalle Antiche Mura al Gran Teatro. Ti mostrerò il Foro, centro politico e religioso della Città, e tutti gli edifici amministrativi che lo circondano: la Basilica (Palazzo di Giustizia), il Tempio di Apollo, il Macellum (mercato del pesce, del pane e degli incontri), il Tempio di Giove e i granai. Qui sono conservati i calchi in gesso delle vittime morte soffocate durante l'eruzione. Entreremo in lussuose case private per scoprire i loro maestosi giardini e per ammirare vibranti affreschi e sofisticati mosaici. Esploreremo stabilimenti balneari e antiche osterie, panetterie (Pistrinia) e Thermopolia (wine and food bar). Ti presenterò la vita quotidiana degli antichi cittadini e commenterò i loro segreti, intrighi politici e amorosi. Il tour è al tuo ritmo e flessibile.
Questa esperienza è pensata per farti gustare i vini locali e un pranzo semplice ma molto genuino e tipico. La nostra azienda agricola biologica a conduzione familiare si trova ai piedi del Vesuvio. Da lì la vista sul Golfo di Napoli è spettacolare. In primo luogo, ci sarà una breve passeggiata guidata ai vigneti e agli oliveti per scoprire il modo in cui la Famiglia produce i vini “Lacryma Christi” e l'Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva. Durante il pranzo degusterai diversi vini. Il pranzo consiste in un menù fisso: Antipasti: Bruschette, provola, salame e capocollo di maiale Piatto principale: Spaghetti ai pomodorini “del Piennolo” del Vesuvio Dessert: “Pastiera” - torta di grano e ricotta Saranno serviti 5 diversi vini (Rosè Spumante, Bianco, Rosato. Rosso, Rosso Riserva e infine Malvasia - Vino Dolce da Dessert). C'è un menù speciale per bambini e per vegetariani. L'esperienza non è inclusa nel prezzo del tour. Il costo è di 28 € a persona pagabili in loco con carta di credito o contanti.
Ercolano era una lussuosa località romana quando fu inghiottita dal Vesuvio durante l'eruzione del 79 d.C. Qui la visita è per lo più incentrata sull'esplorazione di maestose domus, antiche abitazioni private con i loro giardini intatti (Casa del Cervo). Ammireremo vivaci affreschi (Casa dello Scheletro) e i migliori mosaici di pasta di vetro come quelli che si trovano nella Casa di Nettuno e Anfitrite. Un focus particolare sarà sulle differenze rispetto al sito di Pompei: il secondo piano degli edifici, la rete fognaria e la presenza di legno carbonizzato sono solo alcuni esempi. Apprezzeremo l'eleganza della “sezione femminile” dello stabilimento balneare ed entreremo nella piscina dell'antica palestra cittadina. Infine, ti porterò all'antica spiaggia della città dove gli scheletri di 200 cittadini morti durante l'eruzione sono stipati negli antichi cortili. Il tour è al tuo ritmo e sono pronto a rispondere a tutte le tue domande e curiosità.
Ci godremo questo tour all'ombra del Vesuvio. È alto 4000 piedi e ci vuole troppo tempo per arrivare al cratere. Ma possiamo scattare foto spettacolari dai siti di Pompei ed Ercolano.

Natalia was a great tour guide of Pompeii and Herculaneum for our party of (7) including teens. It was the hottest day and we are from Florida. We had a wine tasting lunch in between at an organic winery located on the side of Mt. Vesuvius. That was a pleasant surprise. If we had to do it again, doing both places in one day is not necessary. Pick Pompeii.
Our guide Guiseppe was extremely well informed and precise on the history of Pompei and Herculanum. We were very fortunate to have such a professional and knowledged person to show us around these two magnificent places. We highly recomend Guiseppe as a guide.
Fabulous experience. We were fortunate to meet Giuseppe as a couple in 2024 for a tour of Pompeii and Amalfi coast. We so enjoyed our experience that we booked again for our family trip with our teen daughters back to Pompeii and then for the wine tasting as suggested by G who then took us to Ravello where this time we stayed. What a fantastic tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum! I couldn’t thank our guide, Giuseppe, enough for making this experience absolutely unforgettable. There is so much to see in these ancient cities—such incredible pieces of history, and Giuseppe truly brought them to life. He guided us through the ruins with passion and expertise, painting vivid pictures of what life was like nearly 2,000 years ago. He answered every question with patience and genuine interest, making the tour feel personal and engaging. We had such a wonderful time with Giuseppe! His communication leading up to the tour was great. We even made a last minute decision to skip Pompeii because we wanted to get off the beaten path. He was overly accommodating and took us on the perfect custom trip! He was so knowledgeable about all the places we visited and took us to some hidden gems we would have never otherwise seen. Natalia had all of the knowledge, experience, organization and warmth that are hallmarks of a good guide. With her we learned more about Pompeii and Herculaneum than we ever would have on our own, and since it was a private tour, we covered far more ground than a large tour could have in the same time. Lunch and wine tasting at the Cantina Del Vesuvia (45€ each) made for a perfect break in the middle of the day. If you are interested in a private tour, I highly recommend this one.

Guiseppe, of Travel Italy (I believe), took care of us from the minute he picked us up in Sorrento in his air conditioned minivan (which seated 7). He narrated what we were seeing in the hour drive to Pompeii and his personal tour of Pompeii was the highlight of our tour of Italy. He also arranged for the wine tasting and vineyard tour and drove us all the way back to our villa in Massa Lubrense as opposed to making us drop off in Sorrento. His pre-visit email communication was the BEST. Thank you, Guiseppe, for making our tour that day so memorable and relaxing.

Would highly recommend private tour to Pompeii with guide. Are driver and guide were 1st. class and really added to the experience. However I wouldn’t recommend the wine tasting/tour. Although the wine was very good, the food was not. Also be aware the Hercaluem is closed on a Wednesday.

It's an optional within the tour and both, food and wine served, are high quality.
