The tour itself was okay and insightful, simon had a lot of knowledge on the areas he showed us! He also seemed to know a lot about the show and gave a more personal insight into these behind the scenes areas! But i didn’t appreciate the unprofessional nature of the tour. I understand it can feel more comfortable with a more unprofessional environment especially when you’re spending roughly 6 hours with the guide and tour group. But that doesn’t mean parading your blatantly racist views to the group. Hearing remarks about ‘flattening brown people’ and being ‘sick of ragheads’ isn’t very welcoming nor does it build enthusiasm within a group. Quite frankly it ruins the day and no i’m not interested in knowing you were kicked out of a right wing political party for being “too right wing”! These types of remarks may fly in the pub especially after a few beers, but they should have no place in your business approach. No one can change your beliefs and you’re entitled to your own opinions, no matter how disgusting they are! But rubbing these opinions into people’s faces isn’t okay, especially when they’ve spent £200+ to experience a Clarkson Farm tour. But also this tour is extremely misleading, this isn’t a tour of Clarksons Farm and the extra bits that come under this title. It’s an unofficial tour which shows you an insight into Clarksons Farm but more so personal parts of their life, such as local interests of theirs. There has been clear issues between the guide and Amazon/Clarksons legal team, this doesn’t prove an issue for the tour group at all. But being given the option to visit private areas that you shouldn’t be offering as a margin to make profit doesn’t make the most comfortable experience. This turns into even more of a grey area when you’re spending your time showing a group Kalebs childhood home, but insulting council estates. You have no right to make a profit from parading people’s personal endeavours to a group of people. You also don’t know the background of the people in your tour group so a bit of mindfulness regarding what you’re saying would go a long way. There also is a major incentive to get members of the party drunk which doesn’t make for the most comfortable environment neither. This tour would be better if the website was clear and truthful about what you get for what you pay, and if Simon was a bit more conservative regarding his beliefs.
Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased that you found the tour insightful and valued my local knowledge and the more personal insight I was able to provide. I am genuinely sorry that some comments and humour during the day made you uncomfortable. They were never intended to cause offence, but I accept that certain subjects and humour are inappropriate in a professional tour environment. I have taken your comments seriously and will ensure that this does not happen again. I would, however, like to clarify one point regarding the description of the experience. The tour is advertised as an independently operated tour of Clarkson’s Farm filming locations and the surrounding area, not as an official tour of the private farm. The principal locations visited, including Diddly Squat Farm Shop, The Farmer’s Dog and Hawkstone Brewery, are set out for guests before booking. I am sorry that these concerns affected your enjoyment of the day, and I appreciate you bringing them to my attention.
Great tour, highly recommend! Being a local, Simon is a great guide and took us to places that we would NEVER have found on our own. His small group format allows for flexibility and means that you get to see what you want to see and can stay at each location as long as you want. His new Mercedes van is comfortable and delivers you directly to each location. I really liked that Simon is a fan of the show and can provide information about certain locations and which season & episode they appeared. We struggled with should we attempt to visit Clarkson’s Farm on our own or hire a guide, and Simon is definitely the way to go! With Simon at the helm we got to see way more locations than we could possibly have managed on our own.
Thank you so much, Steve. That review really means a lot to me and I honestly can’t thank you enough. It was especially lovely knowing that the day gave you the chance to catch up with your sister while you were visiting from Texas — what a memorable way to spend time together in such a beautiful part of the country. I’m so pleased you decided to come with me and that you both enjoyed the day so much.

Simon was a excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Having a very lively character it made the day very enjoyable . He adapted the tour and gave you the choice of how it went, so very flexible. Transport was comfortable and supplied water as the day was 34 degrees and very hot. Would highly recommend and will definitely meet up with him again when we return.

Absolutely the best tour by a local of Clarksons Farm and the Cotswolds. Simon is an excellent guide and er thoroughly enjoyed our day!
Thank you so much, I'm really pleased you both enjoyed the day. We definitely did more than any other tour could do!
It will be difficult to explain just how blown away I was by this tour! I'm tempted to say that this is the ultimate Clarkson's Farm fan experience, but that wouldn't do it justice because there's also plenty of fascinating Cotswolds history and sightseeing included. There were a couple of times that I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched Caleb drive by in a tractor and Gerald go by in a farm truck. Obviously, everyone can't expect that same experience, but it was amazing all the same. Simon was absolutely fantastic and gave us as much time as we wanted for photos, food, drinks, etc. and never made us feel rushed. Beyond just stopping at the familiar spots from the show, he brought us to some places and introduced us to some people that absolutely blew my mind. I don't want to say too much because that would spoil the surprise. The communication from Simon was top-notch from start to finish, and he made us feel like family. We ended the tour at a local historic pub, and as an American tourist with a life long love of all things English, sitting down to dinner in a proper English pub with a proper Englishman is an experience I can't put a price on and I will never forget. Speaking as someone who has taken food tours, history tours, nature tours, ghost tours, and every other kind of tour all over the US and Europe, I can easily say that this was the greatest tour I have ever taken in my life.
Hi Chris, Thank you so much, that review really made my day. You will definitely have some stories to tell when you get back home. It was an absolute pleasure having you and Nancy along. I had a brilliant day with you both, and I’m very glad you enjoyed it so much. Thank you for taking the time to write something so kind and detailed. It means a lot. You and Nancy are officially part of the Chipping Norton Tours family now, so please do stay in touch. I’d love to see you both again next time you’re over here. All the very best, Simon
