Il monte Usu è un vulcano che è scoppiato quattro volte negli ultimi 100 anni. La sua eruzione più recente è avvenuta nel 2000. La funivia Usuzan ti avvicina alla cima del vulcano. Scenario mozzafiato dalla piattaforma di osservazione, che include il Monte. Yotei, il lago Toya, la penisola di Oshima e l'oceano Pacifico.
Il lago Toya è un lago di caldera creato da una grande eruzione vulcanica avvenuta decine di migliaia di anni fa. Ha un perimetro di circa 36,5 km e al centro si trovano quattro isole: Oshima, Kannon-shima, Benten-jima e Manjuu-jima.
Noboribetsu Hell Valley si trova nel centro di Hokkaido, è una delle principali località termali del Giappone con la fonte delle sue sorgenti che si trova a Noboribetsu Jigokudani. Una passeggiata nella Valle dell'Inferno permette di camminare in sicurezza attraverso questa misteriosa area vulcanica. Inoltre, cammineremo fino a Oyunuma e faremo un pediluvio naturale.

We booked the one day Lake Toya and Hell valley tour with Sumi and Taki. It really was the highlight of our trip to Hokkaido! They truly made us feel like family. Sumi is very knowledgable and you can feel her love for nature and Hokkaido. We had fun exchanging language tips with Taki as he was interested in learning Spanish, and we also learnt a few Japanese words! The organisation of the trip was impeccable and we will no doubt book again with them if we come back to Hokkaido, hopefully to explore more of the northern part of the region.

Sumi and Takei were great guides! Conversation along the way made the drive pass quickly and we were lucky to have great weather for viewing the Mount Usu and Hell Valley. The onsen foot bath at was a soothing way to finish the excursion. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had a fantastic time on this private day trip. We were only in Hokkaido for a few days and knew that we wanted to visit this national park but didn't feel up for renting a car and doing the navigation ourselves. Sumi and Taki were excellent tour guides - they were incredibly knowledgeable and also very sweet. It was really special to do a tour with people who are from Hokkaido - we learned a ton about the history of the region and also the role Hokkaido plays in Japan's modern agriculture. They were also so kind to take pictures for us throughout the trip - some of my favorite pictures from my trip are ones that they took of us! The sights at Lake Toya/Mt Usu were stunning. We also stopped for lunch at a great restaurant and a few less-traveled souvenir shops. I would 100% recommend this day trip to anyone visiting Hokkaido. If we ever make it back to Hokkaido we will definitely do another one of their tours!

Hell Valley was a truly awesome geothermal location with a lot to see, experience, and smell. There are several walking trails to various locations within the park. Some trails keep you nearest to the geothermal mountains while others take you through the forests. All the trails you'll need good shoes and be in decent health for because there are some narrow passes and a lot of up and down hill portions that could be slippery at times. Bring water and keep your phone charged for GPS purposes.
