We spent 2 1/2 days in Paris, guided by American Concierge. From a city lights tour to Notre Dame,Les Halles , Rodan Museum, Eiffel Tower, and an and an unbelievably fantastic gourmet dinner on a boat cruise of the seine Every tour guide was exceptional.-well prepared, very knowledgeable with personal and interesting stories, and truly enjoyable to be with. The timing of the tours, the combination of walking and Metro gave us the experience of being ‘ in it’ Working with American Concierge from the design of our trip to the execution was absolutely exceptional. Also having an in country contact in case of any hiccup is terrific.
American Concierge was our first experience with a travel consultant. All previous 3 trips to Europe were travels using our own plans and wits. American Concierge did not disappoint. Mary Ann, and her on-the-ground associate, Indigo, created a unique, a la carte experience based on our particular priorities. This included visits, some with local guides and some self-guided, of the cathedral at Chartres (guide: Veronica), Monet’s gardens at Giverney, and the famous Pere Lachaise Cemetary (guide: Chris). Two special places were the private Picpus Cemetary where Lafayette is buried and the WWI Aisne-Marne Cemetary near Chateau-Thierry, where my wife’s great uncle is buried. Many people are not aware of this sites, but American Concierge knew them and came through with the best drivers (especially Claude and Christopher). In addition, when we had to reschedule a half-day Chocolate & Pastry tour on short notice, they did not even blink, and rescheduled delightful Emily for us. Their recommendations for restaurants and the Seine dinner cruise (Le Calife) were spot on. I don’t know whether we’ll make it back to Paris, but if we do, we’ll call American Concierge. And we will recommend them to our kids for their future travels.
Our experience with AC was excellent. From the guides, drivers, excursions everything was top notch. Everyone was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and on time. We had 5 days in Paris and each one was filled with wonderful excursions, restaurants and people. We never waited on a line and were treated as special guests of Paris. Thank you AC.
We loved our AC private tour through Paris. We did multiple tours: one walking tour of Montmarte and a Paris Night Lights driving tour in the evening. Our guide for Montmartre, Valerie, lives in the neighborhood and had all the best recommendations and was incredibly knowledgeable. We got to experience Montmartre as a true local, and see the tourist spots as well. The dinner at La Boite Aux Letters was amazing (the Pan Perdue was to die for). Then Valerie picked us back up with the driver, Claude, and showed us around Paris that evening. They had the trip planned to a T - we drove by the Eiffel Tower right as it lit up, etc. It was beautiful and informational as we stopped at a few locations to take in the night lights and learn about the history. Claude was hilarious and Valerie was a great tour guide! We will absolutely be booking something through American Concierge again next time we go to Paris or London.
So disappointed. While everyone I spoke with at AC was friendly and enthusiastic and a pleasure to work with, the execuion of our plans was not good. We tried to schedule a simple, two-day trip from Paris to Mt. St. Michele on our arrival day and Normandy the next, with a pick-up from the airport and drop off at our hotel in Paris. That is all. We contacted AC six or seven weeks prior to our scheduled arrival. In fairness, July is the busy season in Paris. My husband and I are seasoned travelers used to working with travel agencies almost exclusively. I quickly determined that our representative was inexperienced, but stayed with her as I sensed there were a number of things gong on in her life besides arranging our trip. My disappointment was what I perceived to be lack of support from the Paris office and certainly lack of communication. I had to provide all of the personal pertinent details three times to different people. Our guide, while also delightful, was a person knowledgeable of Normandy and not much more. He did not know of our simple plans and proceeded to go into "guide mode" which would have been nice had we had the time to do other things besides the two places we wanted to go. When we explained our timeline, he was most accommodating. No problem there. Their price was very high but when you don't get the final plans until a few days right before our trip, it was certainly not worth it. Buyer beware.
Truly grateful to the team at American Concierge for making our Paris trip so special. They have the best recommendations for really unique and fantastic experiences. We have been to Paris several time so were looking for some different activities. We had a conversation about our interests and they put together the most spectacular itinerary. The communication and support was incredible! Will definitely call them again and highly recommend reaching out for travel planning.
American Concierge could not have been more fantastic! Sharon, Sydney, and Ann Marie were always so nice to work with and deliver the best customer service. Paris has some of the largest crowds at the most popular, must see sites. This can be an intimidating undertaking to do Paris all on your own. American Concierge arranges the best tours with the most knowledgeable guides. Our Guides- Paula (driving tour at night and the Eiffel Tower), Pamela (Lovre), and Yaelle (Versailles) were the absolute best! They knew entrances to sites that the average tourist would most likely not know. This saves a lot of time and headaches. We learned so much and these private tours are done at your pace and interest level. The best advice I could give is book with American Concierge. They deserve 5+ stars!!
One of our best experiences with this top rate, flexible company helping us in Paris, was the Private Chef experience in the Chef's Paris home. Arranged through a third party nonetheless it was a highlight of our visit, shopping with Francoise in her 17th Arrondissement neighborhood and then helping her make dinner to share at her Chef's table. Otherwise, everything was very organized, not great for small kids sometimes, but designed for teens and grown ups.
We did several private tours arranged by American Concierge, including museum tours and neighborhood tours, during a 6-day trip to Paris. The initial contact was outstanding and the rep helped us think through how to spend our time, making suggestions on both what to do (based on our interests) and staging the itinerary for the days. A couple of the suggested restaurants were just ok, this being the only real criticism. The guides we had were friendly and knowledgeable, and made us feel like we were on a first class trip. While there are always a couple of hiccups, particularly when we were visiting Paris at a time when the city was preparing for the Olympics, AC did a great job in responding to the point where it had no negative impact upon our trip.
From my first phone call with Sharon from American Concierge to our local contact in Paris it was nothing short of a five start experience. We had an exceptional time! WE did a tour of the Lourve with Pablo; tour with Liz of Paris at night and ; lastly a tour of Palace of Versailles with Yaelle. They also arranged a few dining events for us. We had a very short stay and wanted to maximize our time in Paris. If your time is valuable and you are willing to pay for exceptional service..look no further and hire "American Concierge" you wont be disappointed.
