Ci dirigiamo verso il tetto di Gipuzkoa per trovare un edificio ricoperto di “spine”, una passeggiata alta più di 1.000 metri tra prati e boschi, e una razza di pecore rasta dal cui latte viene prodotto il formaggio più famoso della regione.

Itinerario
Ti verremo a prendere al mattino e ti accompagneremo in questo ricco di cultura e storia, escursioni attraverso le Basque Highlands. Sulla strada per il punto di partenza, la guida ti fornirà un'introduzione sulla storia dell'area e su cosa aspettarti durante il giorno.
Successivamente, ci fermeremo al Santuario di Arantzazu del 1950 - un maestoso monumento che si erge sopra rocce scoscese che è considerata una delle strutture religiose più all'avanguardia del mondo! Principali artisti baschi come Néstor Basterretxea, Eduardo Chillida e Jorge Oteiza hanno contribuito a questo incredibile progetto. I dintorni del Santuario sono mozzafiato!
Con l'energia spirituale della basilica inizieremo la salita del Monte Aizkorri. Senza dubbio, queste cime rocciose non sono solo le più alte ma anche le formazioni più scenografiche del massiccio calcareo affilato nei Paesi Baschi. Il percorso ci porterà prima attraverso un paesaggio senza alberi ma verde pieno di pecore "latxa" e leggende locali. Con il tempo, i pascoli si trasformeranno in aspre rocce e sopra le montagne appariranno rapaci scivolanti: falco pellegrino, grifone, aquila stivale ... In cima alla montagna godremo di viste panoramiche e di un meritato riposo! È un momento perfetto per mangiare deliziosi pranzi a base di specialità locali di alta qualità come il formaggio Idiazabal, salumi, prosciutto e tonno da un porto vicino.
È ora di prendere una decisione! Puoi scegliere tra scendere da solo attraverso il tunnel di San Adriano o scendere nello stesso modo in cui siamo saliti, accompagnati dalla guida. Raccomandiamo la prima opzione che ti permetterà di goderti entrambi i lati di questo imponente picco e sperimentare una grotta naturale storicamente importante conosciuta dagli antichi come il "buco all'inferno". La guida ti fornirà tutte le informazioni necessarie e un Walkie Talkie per completare in sicurezza l'escursione!
Molto bene! Dopo un'escursione di 17 km, tornerai alla macchina dove la tua guida ti ricompenserà con un bicchiere di vino locale prima di partire per San Sebastian.

Had an amazing experience with Luis today. We started off with a tour of a small farm that makes Idiazabal cheese. Then on to a perfect hike, pace and lunch in the Aizkorri-Aratz national park. The best experience on our trip yet!

Absolutely fantastic day hiking with our guide Luis. His expert knowledge and engaging manner were perfect. And we loved our lunch, including the personal touch of home-brewed tea. His dinner recommendations were also spot on!

I don't typically write reviews, but our guide Ernes was absolutely wonderful. He took good care of my friend and I, was very informative of the area, pleasant to talk to, and patient with us, in particular coming down from the top. He made sure we took it slow and did not rush us. The scenery was breathtaking, and we enjoyed every step of the way. We got to see horses and sheep along the way. Definitely worth it!!

I took the Aizkorri tour with Ernes today. Absolutely amazing experience. We had a great conversation about Basque culture, possible adventures and geopolitics. Ernes and his team travel a lot and they are very knowledgeable about food, drinks and adventures :) We also had a picnic made of local food. Delicious! I'm very happy I took this tour as without Ernes it would have been very very hard to get to this mountain on my own. I have hiked around Europe quite a lot and it's my goal to cross Pyrenees next year and Ikusnahi team gave me a lot of tips on the crossing as they also have a base in the mountains! I fell in love with San Sebastian and Ikusnahi Tour is a major reason for that! Highly recommended :)
