Really enjoyable experience - our tour guide Ben really brought the history of the Castle alive! The booking team were also great accommodating our last minute request to change scheduled time of visit - great experience highly recommend!
that it’s good information before walking the castle The Guide Ben, was very, very informational funny,
This was the exact tour we were looking for! Alastair was a fantastic guide - kind, polite, knowledgeable, interesting and inclusive of kids. It was a great length of time and we got to see the cannon, which we heard other tour groups miss. Highly recommend!
Allister was a great tour guide! We were expecting just a ticket to the castle but he told us amazing stories about the history of the castle!
The tour was fun and we learned about the castles history. Our guide was very friendly and mindful of all people in his group, he made sure we could all hear him and that everyone was able to stay together.
Alister was a great guide, really informative and able to answer all the groups questions. The tour of the castle gave us an excellent insight into all of its functions. Due to being in Fringe Festival time the Royal Mile leading up to the castle was very busy. Alister keep the group together well.
Alister is knowledgeable & kept us entertained while guiding us thru awe inspiring castle. A fortress steeped in the history of butchery for power, crown, politics, riches & religion (witches included) Living conditions are brought to light. The Crown jewels are impressive and ancient St Margaret's chapel was a hilight for me.
The tour was super informative but moved along at a lovely pace. Allister was enthusiastic and hilarious. Lots of steep walking. We loved it.
Our tour guide was extremely well-versed. Although he shared that this was his first tour of Edinburgh Castle, he had been providing tours in Saint Andrews for several years. He was amazing. He casually shared history, personal information, as well as cultural references, so that everyone was able to appreciate and enjoy the tour, including all elements of the castle. I had arranged for our tour to align with the 1 o’clock Cannon and the tour guide had perfect timing so that we were able to observe and appreciate the canon being shot.
Alistair was amazing. I was with my teenage daughter and we didn’t see the time pass by. We learnt a lot and also laughed a lot. He talked about history, quirky anecdotes and Scotland today. I would strongly recommend him to anyone coming to Edinburgh!
